Although he writes some sense what he has failed to state that gylfi has been playing in a side battling relegation so he has players around him who are nowhere near as good as him so he cannot put through those killer balls and also with having sh!te players around him it means he cannot shine as much as teams who play us put an extra man or two on him to stop him playing knowing that they can spare a player or two
I also find him stating gylfis age going against him,at 28 imo he's in the prime of his career

The difference is that the BBC article doesn't analyse the stats in the depth that the Independent one does (actually the BBC doesn't analyse the stats at all). I tend to agree with the sentiments in the Independent article, and FWIW TheRes (although not quite so vehemently). Thing is, the transfer market has gone nuts so £50m is not outrageous anymore. The Independent writer estimates him as being worth at best only £25 million, and he's entitled to that opinion.
However, turning down Leicester's £40 million is the club's way of stating that he's not for sale without a fight. It's a positive sign by the new management.
If any club is crazy enough to offer £50 million (or somewhere between £40m and £50m) then let him go, but personally I'd be very happy for him to stay here. [Post edited 12 Jul 2017 18:26]
