It will. Was the Cardiff guy deemed mentally ill though? Your example is a hit and run whereas the second could be deemed a terrorist attack. There should be massive custodial sentences regardless. Unless mental illness has been diagnosed and then the decision would be if the person concerned can ever be let back on the streets again. It is much easier to pass sentence when the perpetrator is deemed of sound mind and body.

I'm not comparing the crimes Andrew I'm just saying it's going to be interesting to see the difference in sentences.
Surely nobody's going to disagree that the sentencing for the prick in this case should be serving at at least 25 years inside where as the racist prick in the other case is probably going to get life.
