Well I agree with you,always a good show imo, whether or not he is worth 2.5 million is up for debate,if his employers are prepared to pay that for him,then he must be,not saying it's right,when you look at nurses,police pay etc and I'm not saying they are comparable at all,just saying it's unfair.If it wasn't him it'd be someone else.

I agree on his guests Mrs enjoys his shows, but I just cannot stand Norton he makes my skin crawl.

£150 for a tv licence is very cheap. We don't view very much telly but even watching it for just an hour a week it works out at under £3. And I suppose Graham Norton is better value than Alan Hansen was for the same money so at least the BBC are on the right road.

I think the BBC is really important to us.

The very fact that both sides seem to think that it's biased against them suggests it's actually somewhere in the middle. (You could argue all day how far and which way).

What's the alternative? Be like the US where channels/shows nail their colours to the mast? That just increases the echo chamber for the individuals on both sides. That's a very bad thing.

I have no issue with the printed media being utterly transparent about their leanings. The Mail, The Guardian - i cant stand either, but you know what youre getting with them - you pays your money and you takes your choice.

The BBC is taxpayer funding though. It should be impartial. Some of it is quite clearly not. Highjacks example above is a case in point, absolutely horrendous bias. (granted, it may be poor journalism, but it happens too often for it to be so)

It's never going to be truly balanced as that subjective to each person. However, I see the fact that debate is stimulated on both sides as a good thing.

Aye, but a lot of it is wrong.

The Today programme with that Humphries bloke did a whole piece yesterday (today?) on how inflation was set to rise in the latest disclosure. There was lots of finger pointing at the Tory government and how Brexit was to blame and how public sector wages were going to fall behind etc etc

Turns out inflation went down. They didnt even wait for the disclosure. That is poor, poor journalism bordering on lies.

Modern media is piss poor across the board and its very difficult for us to make out what is fact and what is fiction - which is dangerous stuff

I would say through that there's a difference between bias and poor journalism, bearing in mind that both equally need to be held to account.

The Beeb are usually pretty good when it comes to impartiality but lately I'm starting to think BBC should stand for Broadcasting on Behalf of Corbyn.

Don't know if you've seen that Frankie boyles new world order show? Now Frankie is a leftie I admire and respect because he's very thoughtful and straight to the point and doesn't do all the virtue signalling etc, but that show might as well be a party political broadcast on behalf of the Labour Party. Boyle and four other hard left champagne socialist "comedians" just sit around and slag off Brexit, May and Trump for an hour. Fair enough you'll all say they should have the piss taken out of them. Well true, but if it had any pretence of impartiality on there they should have at least one comedian who will present the alternative viewpoint. They always manage to tick all of the diversity boxes apart from the box that says "opinion". Which is clearly wrong.

Unless we get to see the salaries from C4, ITV and Sky, it's hard to make any judgement on whether they are overpaid, or whether that's genuinely the market rate.

I could imagine that ITV or C4 would poach Graham Norton and his show given a chance, so maybe his viewing figures justify the price.

The BBC does sell a lot of shows around the world, so in some cases, it's a bit easier to work out the value of the talent.
