Oliver Mcburnie 19:32 - Jul 23 with 7786 views | SgorioFruit | anyone know if there is any plans for Oli McBurnie for next season? or is it going to be another season with the academy and the odd 15 min appearance for the first team? Loan him out I say. He wont go to league two I understand but by jove I would love to see him in a Newport County shirt. He would bang in a hat trick every week.

Oliver Mcburnie on 21:03 - Jul 23 with 4660 views | Croftyjack | Having watched the 3 games in the US Oli has looked as good if not a better option than Tammy. The only thing is its difficult to tell against poor opposition but Oli looks a handful and seemed to get more shots than Tammy. Just saying what I saw...being English and from Chelsea some will see different I guess.

In SgorioFruits ideal world Oli joins Newport County on loan. Bangs in a hat trick each week, Newport fly up the league and win the play off final at Wembley with oli scoring the winning penalty. Oli comes back to the Swans with legendary status in south east Wales.

He is 21 not 17. How old do you need to be for potential to end ? 23 ? 25 ? Its a big year for him. Needs to break into the first team ,or be fecked off. Maybe has next year as well.

Admittedly, it's mainly just Twitter talk, but there fans seem to think that could happen. I'd be all for it too, good club that promotes youth at a good level, just what he needs.

probably cheaper (and quicker) to fly there and fly back to yarkshire , then to get a train from Swansea to there ! Mcburnie is not up to the premiership level at the moment (not sure he ever will be) a year on loan will do him good

He probably is, but I haven't seen enough of Tammy yet to be a good enough judge of that. One thing I'm pretty certain of though is that McBurnie is a much better player than most on here are giving him credit for. Yes he doesn't look like a Premier League footballer with his socks down and milk bottle legs. He looks like a modern day Paul Chalmers! But there's no doubt that he's got a huge amount of ability and is capable of scoring any type of goal, whether it be headed goals or curling 25 yarders in the top corner. I'd like to see him have a good season in the Championship first, but he's definitely got the ability to step up.

Right. IMO, if he was going out on loan he'd have gone by now. FL started today.

At the moment he is back up to Tammy. He won't be going anywhere.

Agreed. Not good enough and we can no longer rely on any fantasy about 'potential'. He's Championship level at best so we need to get rid. But we could say the same for Fer, Routledge, Dyer, Fulton, Naughton...... Leon, Siggy and Llorente kept us up- without them there would have been no hope. We are in trouble already. Don't blame the players- they're just not good enough at this level. Blame the Board and in particular one man. He really is the busted flush.
