Possibly on the 'what if' basis of- Mesa gets a bad injury early on and we fail to adequately replace Gylfi/ Llorente. Ki is still out. As much as I love Leon, he can't work miracles every season....

The squad is thin but as things stand it's not worse than the start of last season. That being said, we are a bit thin on the ground and most all fans seem to agree on the areas we need proper strengthening. The siggy saga needs to be put to bed for sure as you'd think our transfer business this summer should not have been dependent on his nor FL going/being sold off.
Last year HJ got it wrong in the summer surely the club cannot make the same mistakes again and go into the season under strength. Where is the CB, RB, Creative midfielder and Winger we need? And that doesn't include replacements for GF nor FL. | | | |

We are standing still at the moment, need to sign at least another 2/3 first team players . We are well and truly f***ed if Siguardsson goes, not only will we need to replace him, but wingers too because our attacking dynamics will have to change. We were atrocious from open play last season and lacked pace and movement. Siguardsson and Llorente bailed us with quality set pieces, but we need more than that this season whether Siguardsson stays or not. |  |

I was kinda being flippant!
Yeah, deals in the pipeline would indicate forward planning... I'm not sure HJ has that capacity other than get etc GS deal done after the 31st July due to the accounting periods. This is when we'll find out the motivations and intentions of them.
Like I said, it's pretty clear what we need ad to be honest in some of those positions what we've needed for a while.
I am not as concerned yet (as I was ore season last year) but if the current set of Crown Jewels go on the 1st August, then the club had better had their ducks lined up we will be in for another harsh winter. Make no mistake, as other clubs will testify, you cannot fight a 40 week relegation battle every season as it will catch up in the end. Far bigger clubs have fallen before. | | | |
