Match day attire? 20:47 - Aug 3 with 4429 views | AguycalledJack | So what does everybody wear on match day? It's interesting as at the liberty you can see anything from the skin head to the 80s casual to the modern day casual to the fan in the team kit. Football has links with a number of sub- cultures so thought it may be an interesting thread.

Match day attire? on 20:49 - Aug 3 with 2877 views | Jackfath | Jeans and a t shirt, a hoodie maybe if it's chilly. During the winter months I tend to wear some skins type attire to keep me warm. Edit: Some sturdy shoes too. [Post edited 3 Aug 2017 20:51]

Match day attire? on 22:00 - Aug 3 with 2534 views | FieryJack | Hardly anyone dresses up for football - flat caps and overcoats back in the day - nowadays, if you look at a cross section of average blokes walking up the road to their local ground anywhere in the country, it'll be jeans (nondescript), trainers (nondescript) and zip-up jacket (nondescript). Of course, you'll get fashion victims, in their teens and twenties, trying to impress, but they're in a minority. Most threateningly-dressed (laughable, really) Swans fan I saw was away at Tranmere when that Robinson bloke was still playing for us. Went into the busiest local in Birkenhead and it was full of Tranmere + a good smattering of blokes in Everton and Liverpool tops. Basically it was rammed with scousers. I was incognito ie. aforesaid nondescript gear, and in walks this lone, burly, mental Swans fan: black jeans, black jacket (open), white Swans top, black strip sunglasses (it wasn't even a sunny day) and clenched fists covered in black leather fingerless fighting gloves. Headcase. He just stood there at the bar scowling at everyone, waiting for someone to have a go. But, weirdly, no-one did! Lot of nerve, or just mental, I don't know.

It did cross my mind, being a Swans fan and all, but I figured caution would be the best policy. After all, if someone started on him, I'd probably be in for a thumping as well!

My mother always drummed into me that I must wear clean underpants at all times in case I was to get knocked down by a car. I often wondered about this advice. Would I be that bothered having to apologise to the emergency services for the state of my pants if a car had just spread me over the tarmac? However, pants are clean, I can't vouch for everything else, mind especially.
