Relegation: The Stark Reality 17:35 - Aug 19 with 2482 viewssP7qupUf

The Yanks need to have a look at the Sunderland v Leeds match that has just started on Sky. Look at the empty seats. Failure to invest in the team will trash their investment plans as well as put the club in a downward spiral. And that's not even mentioning the negative impact on the local economy and job market.

I think it's become very clear they have little intention of investing in the team

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

The only surprise is that people are surprised the Yanks haven't put in any money of note!

They bought it to flip it plain and simple, if they wanted to prove themselves then there was no better way than to start off with a bang and sign Joe Allen as their marquee player last season, they didn't .

They only bought after selling, another clue. This season, sell a player then buy ! same old same old .
Relegation ? no problem just go nuclear with player sales and cost cutting, sell the assets and re coup the rest of the money, the sellouts really fooked us all over yet they get to walk around as if nothing happened.

I still don't quite understand why so many fans don't see this and still believe Yanks will invest and take the club to next level. Beyond naive!

Because the average IQ of our 'fans' is below average. Add a sprinkle of 'we get to see Pogba etc.' means they don't give a fúck.

The yanks or relegation has now became a total irrelevance in the big scheme of things. The trust will have £5m notes in the bank to save the day. Nothing to see here.

I do not expect the Americans to invest, I never have done. Simply because the trust as shareholders would need to invest the same pro rata.

What I do expect the current board to do is clear up the mess created by the last board (this included a representative of the trust). The whole club needed a restructure financially and and in personnel (scouting and commercial being examples). When this is done they can flip it as far as I am concerned and take their profit. Because the club has been in a terrible mess since we have been in the Premier League and it needs to be sorted. That in my opinion is the next level.

and the only people who deserve the full shoeing are the sellouts.

the yanks have bought a business that they have determined as a good investment.

yes, they will try and keep the fans onside through a bit of PR now and again, but the local fans are not the route to profits.

if minimum outlay for maximum gain is their model then we can't really criticise that, although Dwight and the trolls can poke at the footballing side as is their limited and rather tedious right.

again, the sellouts are the only ones who merit an emotional attack as they have endeavoured to justify their actions by suggesting it will lead to greater success for the club (that was not possible before?) and yet, the best we can hope for is scrapping for survival, which lets face it has been the case for the last 2-3 yrs.

or, is there a third way? a successful scouting model or youth team would have to be at the heart of this, and I guess there were hints that the latter could bear fruit if given time.

For the third way to work there needs to be a complete overhaul from top to bottom.

Firstly - full time coaches should be the best in the business. Pay them 60-70k and ensure that they are specialists in their field. What 9-12s need is different to 13-16 and so forth

An academy manager needs to have full say on a clear philosophy. I would almost guarantee you that Jenkins won't let that happen as it's clear he thinks he's Brian Clough reincarnated. I've no doubt that parents also still have far, far too much say in what happens.

Finally, the navel gazing and frantic masturbation over winning the u23 pub league needs to stop. Players progressing to the first team and playing 20-30 games a year is far more important than winning a tin pot cup.

Do you sleep well at night, or are you on medication for your obsessions.
Perhaps cosying up to the head tappers which you normally do will help.

Your last two paragraphs are the crux of it for me.

The club was sold because certain individuals started panicking in 2014 during the end days of Laudrup that one day we might get relegated and all their lovely shares would lose a huge chunk of value. That JTAK monstrosity was conceived about the same time. Initial moves to sell the club began at about the same time (Moores and Noell). The idea that we were sold to move to "the next level" is and was always total bullshit.

Nothing the Americans have done thus far couldn't have been done by the incumbents. Nothing the Americans say they plan to do couldn't have been done by the incumbents, but nobody would have gotten rich that way. Indeed, some of them would have become poorer as professionals would have had to be brought in to do the jobs they've proven themselves to be utterly hopeless at.

The third way you speak of is what we should be doing. The youth setup will take more time, but there's really no excuses for how pathetic our scouting setup is. The same f*cking losers have been in charge for years and we're seeing the results of such complacency and arrogance. When someone tries to tell you that adding Brian Flynn to the mix is a good thing you know you've got problems.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.
