£18,000-a-year on 22:21 - Sep 8 by Dr_Winston | People who send their kids to £18,000 a year school are a bit more likely to give a shit how their kids do there than many parents whose kids end up at the local comp by default. That's the biggest difference. |
Breathtaking arrogance! Those that spend that sort of cash may EXPECT more from their kids but as to "give a shit how their kids do" compared to the rest... well you've proven just how disconnected from reality you are. Before you come back with a bullshit reply I will add that both my wife and family have contended that I'm far up the Autistic spectrum, so if I can see through your bullshit position then everyone else can mate .

My word, were you drunk when you wrote that ?. I know many parents who send their children to Haberdashers school in Monmouth, and the reason they send them there, is because they can afford too. Nothing else, nothing more. Being able to afford X amount, means nothing, in regard to "giving a shit" about their children's education.

£18,000-a-year on 09:12 - Sep 8 by westwalesed | The politics of envy is alive and well. By the way, people who send their children to Private schools are paying for education twice - privately for themselves and then through general taxation which they are more than likely paying a huge chunk of their income on. |
Egged on by 'socialists' like Crispin who went to private school themselves but didn't do quite as well as Tarquin and Quill did. Anyway, some great points in the thread. Lisa'a point about disruptive students is true, however it has been shown that 'streaming' students has virtually no impact on outcomes. Again, without wishing to default to my modus operandi (repetition) the system fails students as it's made by people who don't understand education. Much like the way British clubs don't produce players en mass any more as the academy heads of coaching don't understand that developing players is about learning, not what they 'learnt' whilst playing 500 games see.

Possibly the stupidest thing you've ever said. Right up there with your assertion that most British papers are "left wing". Fair play. Done yourself proud there
