Go into settings at top of page and there's a tab to change avatar and also to put in a signature. Hope this helps.
| We shouldn't all be tarred with the same brush you know! |

1- Find a pic. of Mr Smith (google - images) right click on pic. and save picture and title it. (sorry if you already know how to save pic. I included this in case you don't) 2- Top of the Planet Swans page, next to your user name, click on 'settings'. 3- click on 'change Avatar' 4- Click on 'browse' and a page should open where you can select the Mark E smith pic. 5- Then under the 'browse' option, there should be an 'upload avatar' option...click this. 6- You may need to refresh page after it's all done, before you see the avatar appear. I think this should work.

Well done MoW, very precise and much more informative than my reply.

Yep. Sometimes when I'm being told how to 'computer' my expression imitates my dog when he sees another dog on TV...head tilt and all.

Instructions from Mo were spot on - as you can see. It always helps if the teacher/trainer/instructor assumes total ignorance on the part of the person on the receiving end. Too many trainers in various places I've worked over the years are incapable of grasping this - they spout acronyms and jargon, and then they wonder why their trainees fu*k things up! If they spoke plain English and took care to mention every step of a process - even the apparently "obvious" (to them, that is) - the easier a lot of people's lives would be.

Cheers, tho' it has to be said it's one of the few photos in which he looks relatively healthy. Recent images show him to have an appallingly creased face, ravaged by 40 odd years of alcohol & drug abuse. Ironic I should have him as an avatar considering his notoriously reactionary views on most subjects & his persistent baiting over the years of "trendy middle class lefties" within the music industry. More your sort of chap, I think. Warning to all: do not investigate the "music" associated with this bloke - it's likely to make you ill. His lyrics, on the other hand, are brilliant, bonkers, fractured, witty, insane, scathing, senseless, infuriating etc.

Don't say I didn't warn you, jacktar! It's pretty bloody unlistenable. When he played down the Patti Pavillion in the 90s even I threw a can at him - and I am - or used to be - a fan!
