Please could someone explain why Olsson was substituted and why Clement thought it was a good idea to play Clucas at left back?

Only Clem can answer that.

Olsson may be carrying a knock and he wanted to rest him as soon as he thought he could.
Maybe he wanted to demonstrate that Clucas can be that versatility player he has claimed he can be.
Maybe tactical, but I didn't see much of a threat other than Carroll drifting in at the back post - Clucas taller

Fook knows. If it wasn't an injury issue, then it's a bizarre move.

Yes, I can explain, Clement is a total f*cking busted sham that makes stupid substitutions and selections at the drop of a hat.

Take your tactics and shove them up your arse you boring bastard, oh and stop blaming anybody but yourself.

Sorry, I am choked by losing to that waterfall of w*nk. I may feel differently tomorrow -doubt it- as we've been served the same old shit in every winnable game. Ham were there for the taking, as were Watford and Newcastle. If it looks like shit and smells like shit, it's probably shit.

Gestured to the bench he wanted to come off about 5 minutes before he did.

Clucas was signed partly to be left back cover.

He was crap.

Their goal was his and Mawson's fault. He was out of position and Mawson showed as much desire as Melania Trump shows when Donald suggests an early night.

"Clucas was signed partly to be left back cover".

Clearly not a left back and it raises the question why Kingsley was not properly replaced.

Well of course it does, or why indeed he went in the first place.

One of many decisions of utter stupidity made in the window.

We will pay for it one way or another.

£15m(ish) - three £5m players in one - DM ( err no...), LB ( not really...), CM ( possibly, on the left).

I can only think Jenkins thought we'd save a few quid on paperwork. The massive twàt.

Clucas shone for Hull as an all action, box to box midfielder. Thus far we've played him in defensive midfield and as a left back.

Of course it's his fault he hasn't played well.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

What about Fer's pathetic attempt at a tackle and then watch the player run away from him.

He should have taken him out, even if it cost him a red card

Everyday above ground ... Is a good day! 😎

Come on mate, you should still get the basics right wherever you play - he played just as many games at DM for Hull.

Fer does this all the time. He strolls alongside an opponent trying to look like he's trying.
Put the ball and player into touch, particularly in the last minute.

Having said that, Sanches lost possession cheaply, Naughton failed to stop the cross, before Mawson and Clucas watched it go in the net, too.

He was. It was specifically mentioned by Clement when we brought him in.

Arias and Yiadom are right sided full backs. If we had brought in one of them, Naughton could have covered both sides.

And Rangel didn't come on because we had Clucas who was supposed to be left back cover.

Signed as left back cover?! First I've heard of that. Shambolic if true.

He was signed as a midfielder. But it was mentioned he could also cover left back which is why we let Kingsley go without replacing him. We also were supposed to sign a right back allowing Naughton to also cover both sides,
