The biggest mystery of this thread is that anyone could possibly think that modern day Russia is even slightly left wing let alone communist.
Despite what Trampie may be hearing from the voices in his head today, I said on a thread yesterday that one of the reasons I was (mistakenly as it happens), positive that Wales would qualify was that it's the first time I can remember since I was old enough to go, that I would have had zero intention of going to the World Cup if we'd qualified. I've been to Russia a fair few times, having done some work there in the late nineties and I have no wish to go back with the possible exception of St Petersburg. Particularly for a football tournament.

The NY times article is surprisingly very in-depth on the subject, women done well under communism compared to women in the West.
