England Win The U17 World Cup 18:08 - Oct 28 with 3895 viewsDwightYorkeSuperstar

What a fantastic achievement by what can only be described as one of the most exciting crops of youngsters ever seen in British football history. This is in addition to the U20 World Cup victory and the U19 European Championship victory, as well as the second string retaining the Toulon championship.

I did read it was an excellent game. Unfortunately I decided to stick with the Swansea match after we went 1-0 up.

They were 0-2 down today and won 5-2. Fair play. I’ve seen a few of their games over the past couple of weeks. There’s a lot of raw talent there.

Well that is a real shame.

I have read these young English players are being snapped up by clubs in Europe and are getting first team game time there too. Hopefully they'll all go abroad and develop, rather than get stuck with a team like ours where they'll be kept playing reserve football until 23 before being released.

They'll soon have whatever talent they've got, coached right out of them.

Can't wait.

I want a mate like Flashberryjacks, who wears a Barnsley jersey with "Swans are my second team" on the back.

That is not a sensible attitude considering Wales will likely end up picking up a number of these young players in the future once they've decided they wont make it to the English senior squad.

Both Woodburn and Ampadu would easily make it into future England senior squads. Two of the brightest prospects in British football, and England are tamping with both.

I haven't seen any of this tournament so it may be different now

But

England have always done pretty well at age group level, mainly because they select the lads who have physically matured earlier. Therefore on full size pitches they are able to over power more skilful nations who pick the best players rather than the biggest and fittest.

It also explains why so few youth internationals make the senior team, indeed many fail to make the grade at any sort of pro level.

The most talented English player of the last 40 years never got close to schoolboy or youth honours.

You can add David Brookes at Sheffield United to the 2 talents you have mentioned.

Harry Wilson is not maybe in the top bracket yet, but looks another good young one.

Wales only needs 11. Bring it on.

Not true with this team, they have real talent, they completely outplay the opposition in most games. Japan being a notable exception.
They were missing one top player in the final, he went back to his European 1st team side.
There were approximately 70,000 people watching the final.

Seconded, and that includes the cricket team. I don’t buy into this “England & Wales Cricket Board”, all I see is three lions.

No offence ECB as I know from past posts you’re a fan.

Yes a Welsh team full of er, er, foreign players playing in the English league.
In fact your best Welsh team ever was full of Spaniards.
Perhaps you would be happier also playing in the Welsh League then.

England showed what they thought of Wales and the north of Ireland when they walked away from the Home International games in the mid 1980’s. After 100 years of playing it. They did not give a toss for Wales.

I am delighted they have won sweet FA at senior level ever since.
50 years of hurt anyone ? 😂😂
