Pretty much an average of mass shooting a day over here in the US. With a mass shooting defined as 4 or more people (i think, may be 3 can't remember). The governor of Texas has come in for some stick for a tweet he posted a couple of years ago where he encouraged texans to buy more guns because their sales were in second place to California.
It's hard to explain how engrained gun culture is out here. These events barely raise an eyebrow. Deer season started here in Maine last week and the first accidental death happened on the first day - a woman shoot on her own property by a hunter. You're not supposed to shoot with 100 feet of a house, but that's only a medium/large sized garden in the UK. Again, barely raised an eyebrow. Kids shooter starter sets for sale in Walmart aimed at 7 year olds...

That isn't the correct question though. Everyone in the world would say yes. Doesnt mean they dont oppose banning guns.

Trump is right that part of it is a mental health issue, but the orange prat has got to realize the easy accessibility to get guns is also the issue. Unfortunately he listens to loopy Wayne at the NRA who opposes any form of gun control even simple measures like limiting magazine size or prohibiting certain kinds of ammunition.
Remember part of the reason Trump won was the lie that if Hillary Clinton won, she would take away your guns! A former co-worker said to me, if she had won he was going to buy an AR15 at the time. This is the problem with America that guns have played a massive part in the history of the country from the Revolutionary and Civil wars through to the Wild West, World Wars I and II, Prohibition , Korea, Vietnam and two Gulf Wars. They have this assumption that they have a God given right to own a gun ,although I have yet to see in the Bible the verse 'Ye shalt smite thine opponents with an AK-47 in Gulch County in Tennessee !' Unfortunaly Darran, this is the view of the far right bible belt redneck hick in these parts of the woods here in the Deep South. God has somehow given them the right to carry just less than military grade weapons around ,if Joe Sixpack could have in his possession a thermo nuclear warhead, he would quite happily have one and use it if he could ! | |

My thought is who cares why there's a right to carry your religion or whatever.. but a few bad apples is why we can't have nice things. If people knew not to continually shoot into mobs of innocent citizens there'd be no talk of gun laws, I know I wouldn't even think about it. but obviously there is a problem... and it needs to be solved. |  |
