Are some our players suffering with a sort of "Rabbit in the Headlight" syndrom? 11:02 - Nov 6 with 902 viewsA_Fans_Dad

There have been posts already discussing the Role that our Fans are playing in our current dilemma.
Could it be that our very poor Home record, which seems to be getting worse is because the Players are not just lacking confidence in the team's tactics and abilities. They are just as aware as all of us that they can't score enough goals.
Could they also be being affected by not wanting to let the fans down and the more fans that they play in front of (20,000 at home) the more it is affecting them. Which would explain why they play better away.
They are almost "freezing up", certainly FF did for the goal, the more they play at home the worse their play is getting.
To the point that they are losing even the basics.
This reminds me of England in the Euros, especially one Wayne Rooney, a very experienced professional, who lost the ability to trap and pass the ball completely and was subbed.

If it is the case, then booing them will actually make matters worse, not better.
Their reaction will not be what is expected and make them try much harder, they will go even further in to their shells to the point of becoming mental & physical wrecks due to the pressure that they don't know how to answer.

Or it could be down to the fact that we are expected to do more attacking at home than we are away and we are totally incapable of doing it.

We lost at West Ham (and did last year too), despite them having a similar toxic atmosphere to us...

Yes that would actually make it worse, they know they are not creating enough chances or taking the few that they do.
So if they set up defensively at home to Man U, Arsenal etc it wouldnt affect them as much as being expected to go out and actually WIN.

Easy to say, but that kind of pressure has affected many clubs and they have been relegated.
Many of them "Manned Up" and busted a gut, but their Footballing abilities did not improve, just the number of miles they ran each game chasing the ball.
You seem to equate the amount of cash they are paid with their actual ability compared to the "working classes", why don't you compare their pay with really good players, who are on anything up to 10 times as much.
They are mostly Championship players trying to play above their level and failing and it is showing.
Never heard of "Professionals" failing then?

Sorry AFD but I'm with Oldjack on this. On Saturday they were unable to do the basics competently. Any toxicity in the club, in my opinion, stems from the inability of Clement to lead and motivate the group. In light of the sackings of Koeman and Bilic as well as the news that Makalele has moved I believe Clement has to go. He is not competent to do the job.

This is a pathetic excuse for fuking up basic football on any level ,and they're not championship footballers whatever you may think .You are just adding fuel to excuse their poor showings, and what's with those gloves ?that in itself is pathetic ,fuk they'll be wearing tights next .Man up, face the shtye which you so richly deserve and put it right!

I am not arguing that they do not get paid too much, Footballer's, like most sports persons and "Entertainers" they get obscene amounts of money.
What I am saying is that they are also human.
If they do actually have pride in themselves and they realise that they aren't hacking it I expect them to be demoralised, even more so than those that couldn't give a shit, as some seem to think applies to our players.
Self Frustration is destructive.

No

They get paid big and therefore should accept what gods with it.

What is human is that good players front up and fight not crawl away
