There'll be plenty of them no doubt, aren't you from up the Swansea Valley ? if you are you should know him, he really is a massive Swans fan.

I have Lived in Clydach, and many places in between moving to Cwmtwrch and Ystradgynlais 15 years ago. I moved back down the valley earlier this year, ironically that my wife would be closer to her job in the hospital. Which part of the Swansea Valley is he from and how old?

I think I'd carry on working - keep the mind busy and to avoid the horror stories of people coming out of the water to sponge money off you.

I'd invite the spongers to come and collect it off me in person. Then when they get far enough up my drive I'd shout "Ramone...release the dogs". At the same time I'd pop up from behind cover on my balcony, in full Nazi regalia, and start emptying shot gun shells in their general direction (making sure not to hit the Dobermans). I would then grease the palms of the local plod later to make sure "this all goes away". I'm convinced that the begging letters to Castle Maurice would taper off after this.

Good luck, Mr Cooper

IT's all gone public now anyway, he's from Ystalyfera and early 60's I would say.

Cwmtwrch, I still call in the Castle now and then and the Aubrey Arms for a pint.

Rarely went in the castle as we were in upper cwmtwrch, loved the sticle before it was sold. Probably went to the Aubrey more than all of the other pubs. I think the people who own the abercrave have bought it.

They have have bought it, it's closed for 3 weeks atm for interior refurb, then later for building work to turn it into pub/restaurant.

It should do well there. I hope it does. The Abercrave was the best restaurant for a good while and people would trek up there. That is perched on the roundabout of the main valley interchange. I will be looking forward to that. I think the first date I took a girl on up that way after my mum moved up there was to the old Aubrey. I thought I had gone through a time warp :)
