Countdown to the end of Democracy in the UK 23:28 - Nov 10 with 1042484 viewspikeypaul

And like a typical anti democracy remoaner he decided the will of the people should be ignored the minute the democratic result was in total fecking hypocrite 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Despite it being voted in to law by the commons the spineless two faced remoaner MPs have totally abandoned any morals and decided to ignore the will of the British people.

It will be remembered and no election or referendum will ever be the same again in this country.

The one thing that will come is a massive surge in the popularity of UKIP or a similar party in the future who stand for the 52%.

Happy Days.

You have literally just confirmed my point.

Why on earth would you voluntarily do anything that could mean you only don’t crap yourself at the thought of it because you’ve lived in some shitholes? It’s like saying you’ve been homeless in the past so the thought of voluntarily burning down your house and living among the rubble doesn’t worry you.

Ffs. Has everyone gone completely mad?

No, however people who are afraid of change, or refuse to adapt should adopt a more positive attitude.
Always look on the bright side of life. Think there's a song there....

Time for Cumming's plan B

Sounds like this still has to be ruled on by the Supreme Court next week, so could all change again.

Apparently the sweaty court made the ruling because nobody from the government was prepared to put their name to a signed witness statement that prorogation was nothing to do with Brexit.

If such a signed statement was subsequently proved untrue,,it would be a criminal offence.

Agreed. However clearly, given the changing in relationships, clearly that border will need to be much better protected than it currently is in that scenario. That either happens on the island of Ireland or somewhere in the Irish sea. Or both.

This will all fly very well with the DUP.

Does count as taking back control of our borders?

It’s not a case of being afraid of change or refusing to adapt. I’m sure I could adapt to most circumstances if necessary. It’s choosing to voluntarily put yourself in a worse position that’s stupid.

You have to say that the sweaties court ruling is kind of tiresome.

In the last week, Parliament has passed legislation to rule out no deal, and ruled out having a general election. All the opposition parties have been explicit that they don’t want a general election until after 31 October, so long after the prorogue has ended.

They have ruled out a deal 3 times. They have ruled out any other resolution to the Brexit matter when put to indicative votes. Parliament has literally run out of things to do other than Brexit non-progress, as this parliamentary session has lasted longer than any other in history. They literally have nothing else to do.

The parties were also planning to bu99er off for conference season anyway.

Quite what Parliament would do if they were recalled is beyond me. But apparently this is a constitutional crisis that they can’t pop in to Westminster and do nothing. I give up.

They weren’t going to vote for a conference recess according to all reports.

And, as much as anything, it would be used to force them to release yellowhammer. Although I suspect it will be published whether the government choose to do so or someone else.

Irrespective of that, a ruling on whether or not prorogation is unlawful isn’t ‘tiresome’ even if the time was used to sit playing cards. A government can’t act in an unlawful manner and must be held to account. It’s the principle that’s of the essence. That, in itself, is worthwhile. Otherwise our democracy is buggered.

As it happens, I imagine the Supreme Court is likely to find differently anyway as the precedents are different in England than in Scotland. Although the ruling will be interesting. The Scottish court that has ruled today is a higher court than the court that has given an opinion in England. And the High Court in England didn’t really do much other than swerve it straight to the Supreme Court. The law can never be found to be tiresome as without it, we are all at risk. Not only now, but in the future.

It’s a junior court selected through forum shopping to make a political point by 80 remainer, opposition MPs. That will be inevitably summarily dismissed by a real court next week.

In the meantime, we are to put up with days of anguish by the commentariart that MPs have been ’unlawfully’ denied the opportunity to play dominoes, naval gaze and sort out their belly button fluff in pointless parliamentary session until the grown up judges come along and everyone moves on to the next level of anguish.

The very definition of tiresome.
