Nigel Hamer, Secretary to the Swansea City Supporters' Trust Board has today confirmed that current Trust Vice Chairman, Will Morris will be taking up the vacant position of Trust Chairman with immediate effect. Will continues as an Associate Director of the Club.
Commenting on his appointment as Chairman Will said. 'I propose to make a full statement to Trust Members in the coming days. In the meantime however I just wanted to say that I am privileged to take on this role and together with the rest of the Trust Board will always look to work in the long term interest of the Football Club and its fans. The ongoing discussions with the Majority Shareholders over the proposed sale of some of the Trust's shareholding is something I would want to see concluded as soon as possible and I can again re-assure you that if any of the terms of the final offer differ from the detail as previously provided for the members consultation, then we will conduct a further consultation with you, our members.'

Because if that were the case then there would be no need for those people to resign would there. They resigned because after seeing their error of negotiating - they could not change it due to the fact they were outnumbered - so if they are replaced by like minded individuals - then they will face the exact same issue which forced them to resign.

That argument worked (sort of) a week ago. But if you don't think the circumstances have changed now, then you're a bit dull.
It's one thing to shout and rage and trust board members for doing something you disagree with and demand they either do what you want or stand down. But when they do that and resign, you have zero credibility if you continue to rant from the sidelines at those who step up in their place simply because they continue to do something you disagree with.
You got the situation that you shouted, ranted and abused people to get. There are now 4 empty places. You don't even have to go to through the inconvenience of a vote.
I just think you're a bit of a tw*t if you continue to shout from the sidelines should those that choose to step up don't do what you think is so important that *they* do....but don't think it's so important that you find the time to do it yourself. |

If you'd like to point out where i have been shouting and/or raging, you may have a little point, but unfortunately for you, I've done neither, to repeat the above, it's called voicing an opinion, it's generally what these types of forums are about, funnily enough.
I haven't got the situation that i "ranted or abused" people about either, you should probably read the threads and get yourself clued up on what's happening if you want to try and look clever. The two people that have resigned recently, are the ones most aligned to my thinking, and they have done so because they are in the minority with their thinking on the board. So, it is quite the opposite of what you tried being clever about.
And i think you are a bit of a tw*t if you are happy with the way the Trust is going, or if you're not happy with it and choose to sit there and not voice your displeasure at it, and instead try to belittle those that are voicing their opinion.

Phil felt that the position with the Americans could not be continued in good faith. The "majority' of the board disagreed and wanted to continue discussions. he therefore felt he had to stand down as he couldn't lead a board that he disagreed with, particularly when he would have to be the public face of that decision.
Now is the time for those of strong conviction to stand, make the argument and change the balance of the board. You got what you wanted - honest swans fans have now resigned to make way for those with strong opposing opinions. Step up or get out of the way? | | | |

I was asking the question of Will cos that is what he said in his OP! If the deal is in any shape or form different to what was voted on, then it should have immediately gone back to members and a very sharply public statement made about trust and put the Owners in a place where they had to explain their change of stance | |
