Neil Young sometimes manages to transport me off with the fairies, strange as he's not much of a singer or guitar player, but as a songwriter he's up there with the best.
‘……. like a moth to Itchy’s flame ……’
But would Neil Young (a genuine widely esteemed guitarist) walk out of our guy's gig. Hmmm interesting.
Having said that our esteemed guitarist probably wouldn't charge 70 quid a ticket and have a sell out crowd.
I'm not really a fan, but Harvest is one of my favourite ever albums.
Prefer After the Gold Rush meself.
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Read a biography of Young a few years back, called "Shakey", and he came across as a bit of a selfish, arrogant jerk. Treated his fellow musicians with contempt and disloyalty judged by the evidence in that book.

Saw him a few years back-with Crazy Horse so the full-on noise not the pastoral delights of Harvest.
An idiosyncratic touch, though not quite in the MES league. Now there's a band....

Mark Edward Smith. Sad to see when contemporaries like Peter Hook or Bernard Sumner are in such rude health. Not seen 'The Fall' for about 8 years, but even then the signs were there. A great band, Although many dislike the more 'pop' records when Brix was on board the, body of work from 'The Wonderful and Frightening World of the Fall' through to 'Code Selfish' are a great run of albums-quality and quantity. Great acerbic lyrics'. Always thought the sacking of Craig Scanlon and Steve Hanley was the big mistake-now of course in the 'Extricated' with Brix who are good live.
