Respected Italian football journalist Gianluca Di Marzio says Andre Ayew is edging closer to a return to Swansea.

Swansea do retain an interest in former man Ayew, but the issue has always been wages.
When the Ghanaian signed for the Hammers he penned a lucrative deal in the region of £100,000 a week. He was on a hefty wedge at Swansea too, due to him signing for the club on a free transfer. Any return to the Liberty would have to mean a compromise on his salary. | |

If not for the run we had under Guidolin when Ayew was benched we would have been down. He was an important player for us when we were garbage and bottom at Christmas. Scored most of his goals in losses and snatched draws against relegation rivals. | | | |

It's factually correct (apart from the bottom at christmas thing that was just this season and the one before).
But for the West Ham game where we battered them we looked like a poor team with him on the field. And he doesn't want to play centre forward so what good is he? [Post edited 17 Jan 2018 17:10]

Swansea interested in West Ham forward Andre Ayew
Swansea are interested in bringing West Ham forward Andre Ayew back to the club, according to Sky sources.
West Ham value the 28-year-old at £20m - the price they paid Swansea to sign him in August 2016 in what was then a club-record deal.
But a deal between the clubs is unlikely, with sources close to Ayew insisting he is not keen on a return to the Liberty Stadium.
