Losing Possession From OUR Throw Ins 07:10 - Dec 19 with 1950 viewssP7qupUf

We must have lost possession from virtually every throw in that we had. I'm not just talking about the longer throws up the line but basic straightforward ball to feet. This is basic stuff. Premier League players!!!

Exactly this, I was making a note of how many throw in's (especially in their half) that we kept possession of, and only 2 we managed, and that was because the ball made it's way back to our keeper....disgraceful, something you learn at junior school level.

This isn’t a new phenomenon. We’ve been noticeably poor at this for the past three seasons. Makes you wonder how the coaching staff can’t drill a number of ways to retain possession. Throwing in to a load of statues doesn’t help. The worst movement in the PL.....by miles. Recruitment Dept wearing beer goggles again...

Plus number of times we passed back to our half from poor corners or attacking free kicks. Shoes lack to any forward movement - Tammy positioning was more like a CAM but like many of our attacking players no control or confidence on the ball. I know most of our players aren't PL level but many of gone backwards since last year and the Manager must take responsibility.

Wasn't this one of the things that Clement praised City for last week? Stopping us taking throw ins?

We used to have Gomis come short for them and the number of times he spannered it back out into touch (or fell on his arse) was unbelievable.

Our fullbacks can't pick a pass with the ball at their feet and they can't do it with it in their hands, either. Not that they can be expected to do much when at most two players come towards the ball and mill about like they're at their first big school dance.

Was it Monk that had us taking long throws into the box? The Swansea Way was truly dead then but at least it put some kind of pressure on opposing teams.

We are unbelievably bad at throw ins. It infuriates me week in week out.

Why do our players clearly look puzzled at throw ins and even free kicks when the ball normally goes backwards.

We're bad at throw ins because no one on our team wants the ball. Ever.

They hide from it. That's the entire problem.

No one shows for it though.

His throws look bad because he's threading the eye of a needle to find one of our players who are all trying to make sure it doesn't get to them.

Why does Naughton take around 30 seconds to take a throw in?

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

We have been like this for some time now ... even late in games when we are behind (i.e. most games). Hard to understand, but illustrates a team without leaders on the pitch and a manager that is not motivating the players.

Why does Naughton take around 30 seconds to take a throw in?

Because he is not sure what he actually has in his hands.

Becoming increasingly obvious.

Other teams - closest player grabs it, throws it short for the one-two, ball gets back into play.

Us - closest player picks it up, then drops it at the feet for Naughton to collect, who then takes 30 seconds while players to move up the touchline and get marked before taking a'long-ish' throw with hope of a flick on.

Bony wanted it in our last game and did a good job, as for the rest, absolutely abysmal.
