I had the book for Christmas, and had a quick look at it last night and in the prologue it states "This is the story of an appalling crime and the flawed police investigation that followed. It is based mainly on first hand reports from the South Wales Evening Post..."
That has made me want to bin the book already.

Exactly, the DNA evidence can work both ways.
He changed his story a number of times when different evidence was provided by the police.
I was living in Clydach at the time, and Morris was in trouble regularly which involved weapons most of the time. After the murders, nothing not a peep out of him. I guarantee the Dawson family would never want someone innocent convicted of this, they are all 100% sure it was Morris.

I don't know for sure, but I would have thought with all the cross contamination of DNA from the firemen when they removed the bodies, plus the fire, any DNA samples would be inadmissible evidence. |  |

It's rather ironic, that on many occasions there is no convicting DNA of a guilty criminal left at a crime scene whilst there is indeed innocent (unrelated to crime) DNA found belonging to others. Benign, law abiding visitors do not generally tend to walk around a house covering up their hands , wiping stuff and pouring/spraying chemicals at strategic points etc etc.
A recent Swansea Crown Court case, a few months back would have been very educational regarding DNA evidence subject matter.... It involved a burglary gang....Experts explained in depth about standard burglar./criminal action to prevent detection....It also mentioned (coincidentally) an earlier claim by myself that burglars, criminals and murderers do indeed wipe light switches and door handles... There was also explanation about innocent cross transference i.e. known in the trade as secondary transfer and tertiary transfer. |  |

Oh dear, he attacked an innocent (unconnected to murders) individual from behind with an iron bar, that innocent individual required 5 hours of neurosurgery, further requiring two weeks in intensive care. That individual would have been murdered but managed to jump out of a window and escape.

One had already quit before the murders, i believe one of the brothers never returned to serve.
Morris' solicitor from the first trial ended up f*cked too, due to his dodgy practice of representing Morris and the Lewis brothers at the same time. I also believe that he had to pay the court costs of the trial due that. |

Hutchinson then advised Morris that he had acted previously for the Lewis brothers, but Morris then signed a document stating that he wanted Hutchinson to represent him.

The question of conflict of interest is purely a matter for the solicitor in question. If the clients have had everything explained to them and are happy then to my mind unless there is clearly some irrefutable malpractice then that is it. The client Morris knew the score. | | | |
