Liverpool echo arena fire on 10:49 - Jan 1 with 3007 views | whoflungdung | Dicky. A Land Rover ignition system apparently spontaneous combusted . People ran for their lives . Apparently Mark Wright ,ex LFC , and missus played their part in evacuating people and animals This ,to me, is one of the greatest miraculous escapes from an incident of this nature I can remember . Imagine 1600 cars exploding one after the other in a multi storey car park

Liverpool echo arena fire on 11:15 - Jan 1 with 2963 views | dickythorpe | What would have made it combust? I remember seeing Mark Wright in Barons years ago, quite a formidable looking bloke for a footballer. I can imagine him taking charge. Amazed no casualties!!!

Probably more from Cheshire, Wirral and rural Lancashire given it was a horse show. Like you Rich we know people who have lost a car. Thankfully no one or no animals were hurt.
Liverpool echo arena fire on 12:23 - Jan 1 with 2884 views | Nogginthenog | We often stay in jury inn when we visit Liverpool and park the car in that very place. I can understand how a fire spreads across a whole floor but not different levels. The speed of the spread and the flames must have been ferocious. Thankfully no one was injured but the inconvenience and trauma must be substantial.
Liverpool echo arena fire on 12:33 - Jan 1 with 2861 views | whoflungdung | Cook off trample you utter cretin . By all means ,chuck in your puerile garbage but not in a serious post As has been said, many from outside Merseyside affected ,even Wales . What would make it combust? An electrical fault . Land Rover s prone to it apparently

Thankfully Charlotte and Carl and their Olympic hopefuls are apparently ok, I wonder what music they had for their dressage to music ?, I know the wife had a cracking compilation put together for her and her horse a few years ago.

Liverpool echo arena fire on 12:56 - Jan 1 with 2805 views | WxmJax | Apparently cars on the the top roof level were untouched because there were pets rescued from them AFTER the fire had been put out. Incredible. What I don't understand is why people would have taken their dogs with them and left them in their cars? We were thinking of going to the New Year's Day concert this afternoon at The Philharmonic but have now thought otherwise. Awful for all those caught up in it, a crap start to the new year. I've heard it said that the Newmarket equine clinic is Britains World leading equine hospital ? My wife has used the hospital in Bristol, gone visiting taking carrots the lot after the op, those horses have got more coats than me and I'm not joking either.

Newmarket deals with racehorses. Liverpool has more leading research and orthopaedics in Europe. Bristol is goood. Liverpool tends to deal with the eventing, showjumping and Dressage side. Also teaches whereas Newmarket and Liphook are private practices

No you have got that wrong, Newmarket deals with all sorts of horses, it was the trauma center for the Olympics, they do eventers, show jumpers, Sunday hackers as well as racehorses, horses come from all over Europe to be treated, they have a huge team of experts and a multi million pound facility. I read about it in a national newspaper before the Olympics.
