As most of the pubs in Wolverhampton don't serve away fans, a couple of us travelling by train are planning to stop for a few drinks in Birmingham. It's less than a 30 minute train journey to Wolverhampton after that.
These two pubs have always had Jacks in them before the Villa and WBA matches and they are about 10 seconds from to each other - you can walk from one to the other via the smoking areas.

Agree with OP regards getting a drink in Wolverhampton. When we went to the Wolves game first season in Prem we couldn't get in anywhere and ended up in an awful chain bar some distance from the ground. Much more sensible to go to one of the many excellent pubs in Brum. |  |
