Booking Fees Grrrrrrrr 12:09 - Jan 9 with 22815 viewsoldgrey

Went to get my Wolves ticket this morning.
Cash sale.
Was overjoyed to see a £2.50 booking fee added.
Apparently since 3 January.
The man did tell me that credit card fees stop from the 13 January.
Are these robbin' Americans reduced to this type of money making scam now?

They could be badly embarrassed there if a real journalist looked at the credit card merchant charges, which are capped, versus the level of transaction fee. I doubt that ‘revenue neutral’. Also of course, revenue neutral is meaningless when it used to be people choosing to pay it and causing the club to incur a charge, versus everyone having to pay it without being a cost driver at all.

It’s just more bollocks from a totally bollocks club that has completely lost itself. It’s not all it will have lost soon either. I bet season ticket renewals to date are an eye opener.

Where could one find such a thing as a 'real journalist' to investigate the issue?
Anyone out there with a spare Time Machine?

If 83% of ticket sales are online then 17% ain't so the club should cover the booking fees for the 17% non internet sales so people can buy tickets through the ticket office without booking fees.

I'm assuming they mean this:

Which makes no sense at all

Thanks - this is a good article and it confirms it is a money making scam. Why not charge for the toilets too?

The booking fee was never imposed by ticket master.

They've announced today btw that the fee will fall to £1.50 per ticket from 19 January.

I'm not going to argue. It's not ticketmaster. It's the club.

And the new charge applies to online booking as well from 19 January if you look at the club website.

Which sort of goes to show IT'S NOT TICKETMASTER :-)

Because then they can give headline ticket prices and add on booking fees that people will pay once they've emotionally committed to buying a ticket. It's ethically dishonest and very very common.

It's the club.

Yes. Actually £1.25 rather than £1.50. I misread it.

Yes. Still £2.50 for ticket office I think.

Still can't get a ticket for the advertised headline price however you do it.
