I'm attending one in a month or so. Staying around the Tyne bridge. Any recommendations for bars, clubs and restaurants?

Tremendous city. Went to this bar opposite St.James's Park after our win up there in April 2015.

Went on to other bars but was howling.

There's a Quays development that a lot were talking about, but I got nowhere near it!! I stayed at the County Hotel across the road from the train station. That was ok for a quick drink.

Everywhere in centre is good.

On waterfront is an excellent Spoons .

Walk the Millenium bridge over to Gateshead . Incredible structure

There is an excellent music shop right in the centre of the city ,if you're interested .

Geordies are terrific people

I would agree with that. Every Geordie I have ever met has been great to spend time with.

I worked with a Geordie, a bloke from Stornoway and a bloke from Northern Ireland many years ago, none of us could understand what the others were saying.

Pre load in a Wetherspoon, there’s one in the Gate and a better one with 3 floors on the drop down towards the train station. Think it’s called the Mile Inn or something. Later on head for Cosy Joes if you were a fan of Barons, it’s all in the same area. Leave the quayside unless your staying over the bridge as the hills a horror pissed up

I stayed on the Gateshead side of the Tyne by the Millennium Bridge and the Sage Arena in November. They had plenty of hotels there all walkable into Newcastle City Centre. Better off getting a cab though as the town is right on top of the hill.

Bierkeller, Sinners & Filth are all good bars that will cater to a stag party and in the city centre
