Nolan not quite accepting of defeat. 09:34 - Feb 7 with 6835 viewsLoyal

What the managers said
Notts County manager Kevin Nolan: "I don't think they deserved to be 8-1, but it is one of those games where their finishing was Premier League standard. If you give them opportunities they are going to punish us - of 14 shots on target and eight have gone in.

"We need to concentrate on what is important, which is the league. We need to take this hit and keep smiling.

In fairness to Nolan if you'd been bummed you'd have been struggling to explain what had just happened.

An idea isn't responsible for those who believe in it.

I see his point and agree. Our finishing was of an incredibly high standard but their keeper wasn't very good either. Four of five of those goals were pretty special. And to score 8 from 14/15 attempts takes some doing. Take our game at Spurs when we somehow luckily scraped a 0-0 when they had around 25 goal attempts as an example. Those were bad old days.

Haha you won't let that one go.

They had next to no shots on target and next to no real chances on our goal.

A half baked penalty shout and one from Kane.

That was it, how you can compare to last night is beyond my thinking

In fairness to Notts Co., when they were obviously in for a stuffing, they didn't resort to clogging our boys out of the game. In that way they retained their dignity.

25 goal attempts is 25 goal attempts. Accept they weren't tap ins but this is the Premier League and these players can score from anywhere. Inside their own half even. Take the Wanyamha goal at Liverpool last week. Any team that concedes 25 goal attempts has been bombarded and under the the cosh for most if not the whole game. It's nothing to be proud of. To use one of your phrase, watch the game back and you'll see how one sided it was ( Spurs v Swans ). The comparison to last night relates to the finishing, the quality of ours.

It could have been more than 8. They took their foot off the gas and one stage and just passed and passed the ball around.I would even suggest that we didn't get out of 3rd gear

You may well be right
I still think we felt sorry for Bradford and let them off the hook.
It was good to see we didn't do that last night.
Think we could have scored more mind.

But one helluva confidence boost for our boys
Nice to see our players weren't showboating as well

If you wake up breathing, thats a good start to your day and you'll make many thousands of people envious.

When Alan Smith came on he dived in with couple of two footed leg breakers, fortunately they didn't connect, otherwise we would be adding another few names on to our injured list.

We did, Michu admitted it. Told of the Bradford defenders.

How Nolan can say they could have scored 3/4 is beyond me though.

Usually the events following an unwanted sudden bumming does not involve the national media throwing a microphone in your face and saying "how was that bumming for you?"

Luckily scraped a 0-0? Many on here were adamant that was all down to Clement's genius and we were going to have a wonderful season. Anyone who dared question the match and suggest we were fortunate was ridiculed.

Smith has always been the same ‘orrible little sh1t.

Still the attention seeking tw@t even in the twilight of his career by virtue of his ridiculous hairstyle which he tried to emphasise by taking his hairband off and diving into ‘tackles’ as you say!

That bit made me laugh. We were lucky to score 8 from 14 shots on target, they were unlucky not to score 4 from their 3 shots on target.

Tactically they were dreadful. All the space in the world between their lines to do whatever we wanted, and what we wanted was to score 8 goals. Barely any effort on their part to address the issue either.
