When watching Ki, the people who understand football will appreciate how good of a player he is.
Yes, he’s not the strongest in the tackle, BUT his first touch in setting up a pass and dictating the play is absolutely magnificent, and we are lucky to have a player of such quality.
(Despite this when he goes in half heartidly in 50/50’s it absolutely infuriates the hell out of me). |
When watching Ki, the people that don't understand football will praise him even when he is in a terrible run of form. His lack of appetite for the tackle and hiding when the going gets tough defines him, not the odd good passs which is just doing his job to the minimum requirement. |  |

But MOM, no way.
That is his first goal in 2 years and miles away from the 8 he scored in the 2014/15 season
His passes were no better in quality than those of Mawson & VDH whose long diagonal balls changed the game from defence to instant attack.
The Match day ratings say J Ayew was MOM and I tend to agree just for his outright work rate.

That could be because Clement persisted in playing him as a defensive midfielder, which he's no good at.
Carvalho is pushing him higher up the pitch, with more goal scoring opportunities. I'd be happy to bet that he'll score al least a couple more goals in the Prem this season because of that. [Post edited 11 Feb 2018 14:15]
