I was there. Bit of carnage i must say.
but over in France we drank and sang with the Russians before and aftr our game. No trouble whatsoever.
i think the England fans problem is that groups of them give it all large, shirts off, singing some songs which offend, and getting pissed. It attracts trouble. The Russians just had a bit of fun and taught them a lesson. Hopefully they have learnt from it. If not, they must be thick. |

Not sure the last time Wales or England played in Russia itself? A mate of mine went to the playoff game v Russia in Moscow 2004 was it? Different back then given but around 300 hundred Russians came and attacked the hotel about 50 Wales fans were in. It reminded him of the end of Zulu. |

To be honest, I can't remember how many fans were there at the exact time. It was a huge hotel (Rossija Hotel from memory), and this happened the day of the game. We were in the hotel reception area drinking and waiting for the buses to collect us for our escort to the ground which would be a few hours later. The hotel had a glass walkway entrance with a small door in and out. There might have been about 50 Wales fans outside having a fag etc but of the 2000 odd Welsh fans that travelled, a large proportion were staying in this hotel which is why they targeted it.
There was easily 300/400 Russian skinheads and they just came up over the hill. Stormed their way in and there was smoke everywhere in seconds so nobody could get a sense of what was going on. I think the police might have been there all along actually, as we were due an escort to the ground. It died down and the Russians legged it anyway. I remember a call from the ground floor up to the top floor for Wales boys to get down there and help out because some of the Welsh boys were upstairs looking down on it all. The Russians were kicking f*ck out of some fans outside. | |

The Russian "fans" (groups of organised thugs that are often led by off duty soldiers and are bolstered by criminals as well as the brainwashed, nationalist, impoverished, angry, youth)...
are going to batter the living shit out of any English fans stupid enough to go along...and they are going to do this with the complete backing of the Russian state.
People will be coming home hospitalised and there may even be a few coming home in body bags.
Putin and his administration have probably already got their script good to go, the excuses and denials lined up...delivered with a smirk and some disparaging remarks concerning the UK.

There were plenty of Swans fans there. I recognised some, as usual. The difference is they don't sing exclusively about Swansea players at Wales games or display Swans flags openly. When I have spoken to North Walians at Wales games in the past, they have often laid the blame for the Swans/Cardiff issues at Wales games with the Cardiff fans. I wonder why that is? It's getting much better these days though. Although you still see it happening now and again. I saw it happen a bit in France. | |
