Micro plastic particles found in bottled water.

The Oceans are full of plastic.

Plastic will lead to the destruction of the planet.

It won't just be bottled water though it will be plastic bottled everything. Think of the juices that are slightly acidic or Cola's, those results must be worse. The bottles are made with the same ingredients, they just have different contents, water must be the least affected.
Then you have the occasional canned drink that has a metallic taste.
On a side note, don't keep using the same plastic bottles over and over, a couple of times is more than enough. They are made using tetraphatalate ( the T in PET that you see on the base of many plastic bottles, PETE is something entirely different, isn't it Pete ?).

I was wondering about that enzyme, if it breaks down plastic then the particles presumably become smaller and enter the food chain easier ?

I assume that breaks down means, chemically, to its constituent parts. Also to date there has been no health risks associated with plastics but it is acknowledged that further work needs to be done.

Not true about zero health risks.

There was definitley a problem with plasticisers leaching from clingfilm into food, especially fatty food such as cheese.

Some of the plasticisers (chemicals whcih make the film very flexible) such as phthalates were harmful.

Ta, I remember that now...I believe the no risk comment was from an article about oceanic plastic contamination getting into food chain.
