Just been watching Peston On Sunday.
The mad Tory Soubry launches an extraordinary personal attack on John McDonnell albeit waiting until he had left the studio.
Leslie on the other hand spent most of the programme holding hands with her under the table. The caniving sod sat there quietly listening to her rant.
The sooner these treacherous swines are deselected from the Party the better.

Edit: Still watching ... check out Leslie nodding to Soubry for approval every time he opens his gob which is not very often. Most if the time he sits next to her like a lap dog.

I’ve no idea what point you’re making re: McDonnell sorry.

Nope it's OK.
Firstly did you see the interview this morning?
Soubry waited until JM had left the Peston broadcast area then launched into an extrodinary verbal attack on him that even Loh would have cringed at. Called him one of the most dangerous men in politics. Then a general attack on Labour saying they will do anything to get into power.
Now this is standard fare for the Tories. Personal attacks are all they have got, albeit this one was particularly cowardly and uncalled for.
Leslie on the other hand had sat with her with croissants and orange juice for the whole of the program. He said nothing about her attack on JM or the attack on his Party. This is the same guy that is working in the background in support of rebel groups plotting to get rid of Corbyn as Leader of the Party. This is the man who has held ministerial shadow posts and is well aware of collective responsibility.
Imho he should be deselected for his treachery.
It's very different from Private Partz not supporting Welsh Labour and chopsing about it on a non football board.

So if all Labour MPs aren’t four square behind the party leader you want them to be deselected?

I’ve just spent the last hour watching the clown on YouTube preaching the mantra of confrontation. He doesn’t like the term ‘direct action,’ that’s far too wishy-washy for our boy, he wants to “call it what is” and go full-on Trotsky with ‘insurrection.’

This is the Shadow Chancellor, mind.

Im all for people standing by their beliefs but when you have two guys that vote against party policy about 1000 times between them you wonder why the hell they joined the Labour Party in the first place.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

Have you seen the current furore that appears to have been started by Owen Jones, that the BBC made Corbyn look more Russian by photoshopping his hat (they didn't, it seems) and putting him in front of a Russian background when talking about Russia (they also used the same backdrop for that idiot Defence Secretary it seems, so not particularly sinister all things considered).

That Owen Jones is an absolute idiot as well.

I don’t think he’s a ‘bad’ kid, really, just exceptionally naive. For all his book-learnt leftism he has never had any genuine point of contact with the working class he hopes to inform, certainly nothing approaching lived experience.

If only Owen Jones and his idiot mates exercised the same diligence before making accusations against the BBC as the do before making accusations against Putin.

Fair comment. You have to be true to your convictions but there is a responsibility to the Party as well however. He could have at least defended the attack on his Party and also commented on the tone of the attack.
Labour are on the verge of winning an election and Corbyn has enough enemies without the plotters from within. The Tories would not have tolerated it had the got a Leader who had not weakened her position so dramatically that she hangs on by her fingernails now.

I'm sure Chris Leslie loved every minute of it as did the majority of watching Labour MPs.

Most of them think the party is being taken over by Momentum/Unite and would love to see the back of Corbyn and Co. McDonnell doesn't have many friends in the PLP - I'm sure Acejack will confirm this...

And I'm fed up telling everyone it's utter fûcking bollox - as anyone who's been anywhere near BBC television production will tell you. People would be amazed at the guidelines and scrutiny in place.

I notice Jolyon (arf!) refuses to produce any evidence. I wonder why...
