Putin the new Hitler on 23:11 - Mar 22 with 3271 views | Ebo | That awkward moment when Boris Johnson is reminded that while Russia (USSR) actually boycotted Hitler's Olympics, Great Britain didn't. And that the England football team were ordered by a Tory government to give the Nazi salute in Germany in 1938.

Putin the new Hitler on 15:18 - Mar 22 by Ambergambler | He didn't, you're right. The comparison was first made by the Labour MP Ian Austin who suggested Putin would use the world cup in the way the 1936 Olympics were used as a propaganda exercise to gloss over human rights abuse. Johnson just agreed with the comparison. |
Exactly right. Boris made no comparison at all with the Russian people and the Nazis. His comparison was of Putin being in the same position as Hitler, basking in the reflected glory of being the head of the host country of a major international sporting event which is the focal point of the world for a few weeks. Nobody is correlating Putin with Naziism - just that like Hitler he is a cruel, ruthless, authoritarian, corrupt and vicious dictator. He's kind to kittens though.

Its been noted by some that lots of the English support ISIS in the Middle East and the Nazi's in the Ukraine. The West seem to be agitating all the time for a fight with Russia, they paint them as the bad boys when some observers might even go as far as to say that its the other way around.

Russia does not have any chemical weapons as they were removed / decommissioned by the OPCN (or whatever abbreviated form the world authority for chemical weaponry uses). It's well known that Qatari and Saudi (and possibly even Israeli) agents DID have stockpiles inside Syria at the time, with one missile from the from the Syrian government forces unwittingly hitting one bunker and killing local civilians and militia in the process. Felix, honestly, do you still think to this day that the lies about Saddam Hussein -specifically over his (non existent) weapons of mass destruction are true? [Post edited 24 Mar 2018 8:52]

Putin the new Hitler on 09:05 - Mar 24 with 3093 views | trampie | The hypocrisy over the Crimea by many commentators is staggering, have they forgotten about Northern Ireland ? The people of Crimea are Russians and want to be Russians, they have voted to be part of Russia, the place was Russia at one time. The democratically elected Government of the Ukraine was overthrown by groups described as Nazi's backed by the West, the democratically elected Government was pro Russian the Nazi groups put in place with the help of the West are pro England, Germany and America. The West is initiating a cold war, its encircling mother Russia, the West has created Al Qaeda and ISIS and fight on the same side as them against Assad and Russia, Russia to a large degree sorted the head choppers out, yet get no praise and the reason it gets no praise is because the West is on the same side as the head choppers. Putin the new Hitler on 13:29 - Mar 24 with 3005 views | PozuelosSideys | The Russian directorship should never, ever be appeased. They will always see it as weakness. They need biting back occasionally - obviously diplomatically - not with dopey words and comparisons such as this. However, Johnson walked straight into this one, and the Russians obvious attempt at deflecting attention away from the matter at hand - a tactic which they often use.

John McDonnell has said he "agrees with the prime minister" that the Russian state is "responsible" for the Salisbury spy poisoning. The shadow chancellor told ITV "whichever way you look at it", Russia's Vladimir Putin "is responsible and all the evidence points to him".

Firstly, I accidentally up arrowed you... Of course the Russians did it, you plonker. I also expect that when the sample is analysed OPCW it will NOT be the same as the known Russian built Novichok and then the shills, bots and Russia apologists can rail against the Uk and West and say " we told you it wasn't them" ... but it is a Russian Intelligence operation executed at it's most optimal. Obfuscation, misdirection and "plausible" deniability. The russians invented and perfected (are still perfecting) this kind of operation.

You have that all wrong the Germans threw most of their resources at the Russians and not the British and Americans and the Germans still failed to beat the mighty bear. Its the Americans that have been more of a danger than the Russians to the people of the World, America is the only nation in the World to use a nuclear bomb in a war capacity, Russia developed theirs in response because they feared that the Americans would have no problem using such a weapon again.

Couple of fair points there Trampie but don't let history and romanticism blind you to the dangers of the kleptocratic dictatorship that exists in Russia today, admittedly aided by the modern day equivalent of appeasers in the form of the Tory Party. [Post edited 24 Mar 2018 20:04]

There was no vote by the people of Crimea to become part off Russian. A vote of sorts was held after Russia invaded but under threats of Violence only the Russian part of the Crimea voted. There was no opposition party allowed and campaigning so it was certainly a free and proper democratic election. The results was not accepted as fair by either the UN or any other independent monitoring body. Not sure what NI has to do with Russian other than it people of NI wish to remain part of the UK.

Russia would not have survived without the Artic Conveys which supplied Russia with thousands of Tanks and Spitfires to halt the German advance before the Russians could Transfer its Asia and Pacific armies to the Russian front. Plus the German airforce was badly damaged by the RAF. German war production was badly hit by the allied bombing. Germany also had to transfer most of his heavy Artillery to defend it's cities. No single Country could have defeated Germany on its own it took the combined might of the USA, Russia and British empire to defeat Germany. Stalingrad is often considered the turning point of the war bit Germany actually lost more men and equipment during their defeat in the Desert by the British.

Two thirds of the people of Crimea are ethnic Russians, 85% even 90% of the peoples native language is Russian, Crimea was part of Russia for the best part of 200 years they gave it away and for reasons nobody knows and have now annexed it back. In Ireland the country was artificially cut in two, they practised gerrymandering so the pro British could keep a majority in areas where they were in the minority.
