The Observer today has an article about 10 underrated players. As well as Ben Davies at Spurs they include Ki.
Ki Sung-yueng (Swansea City)
Milan’s interest in a player is no longer quite the stamp of approval it once was, but the suggestion that Gennaro Gattuso’s lot are keen on signing Ki Sung-yueng when his Swansea contract expires in the summer is at least an indication that the South Korean midfielder is handy. Which, of course, is a conclusion you could reach by watching him. An economical passer, Ki is one of those midfielders who keeps the ball moving, is stronger than his skinny frame suggests and was a key man as they escaped relegation last season. If they are to avoid that fate again, he will have to perform in similar fashion.

Depends how you use him.
If you have a manager who knows how to set up a team and a midfield with the player's attributes in mind then Ki can be a fantastic player.
If you have a manager like Monk, Bobley or Clement then you've got no chance.

Definitely not underrated when one considers his overall corpus of work, which is below average. Of course he is useful for his corner kicks, but given his talent, he so often disappoints, as he ought to be scoring 6-10 goals and producing 8-10 assists every year. [Post edited 24 Mar 2018 21:13]

Having a high pass completion percentage alone doesn't make a player a steady eddy.
The player also has to be willing to win the ball and make himself available for passes on a more consistent basis. His movement off the ball is lacking. | |
