He was for 20 minutes and actually helped Tom Carroll to look like a footballer. Leon tired in the last 10 and that’s why he wasn’t used in the run in. 20 minute cameos are fine if we are defending a lead but we never got into that situation.

Leon has made a decision to retire from playing because he knows his body can’t do it any more. If he could extend that 20 minutes to an hour he’d be worth a place in the squad. Unfortunately he can’t.


makes sense really, just frustrating when you see Leon making the effort and standing out as one of the best on the pitch (albeit for 20 minutes), realising his time has come, and the rest of the team around him simply not good enough in their 90 minutes compared to Leon's 20 minutes.
All good things come to an end.
Sad not to see Leon play again.
And also a indicator of how much we have failed to invest in the squad if Leon plays on our last game in the premier league ( departing appearance granted ).
