The Trust put up a thread on their Communications inviting comments. I posted 4/5 days ago saying the Members only facebook group wasnt a good thing/too insular/the Trust lacking in any social media prescence on twitter/ need to get the Trust message (whatever it is...) out there far better etc.
Expected some response, comments...nothing...on the Communications thread...I'd laugh at the irony if it wasn't serious.
If there's ever a re-vote, based on the fb group, sadly, I expect nothing other than the Members to vote to remain in with the Yanks.

That doesn't surprise me at all, if I'm honest.
What percentage of Trust members use FB regularly? I doubt if it's more than 50%, so they currently have about 1/3 of the most realistic target.
What they should be aiming for is getting some of the 20,000 within the stadium to sign up as members, the extra tens of thousands around the world who follow the Swans.
Unfortunately, the first question is "why should I join the Trust?" and that's not easy to answer nowadays.
The "to be able to vote out most of the useless hangers-on sitting on the Trust Board" reply isn't as attractive as "because you'll be a member of an exclusive and wonderful group that owns a large percentage of the club". |  |

Why would they use Facebook when they have their own website ?
They could have a forum on that page, either open to all or restricted to members if they so wished ?
Seems to me like instead of using a tool the majority of members can access, they are going for a tool that less people acces.

What's the point in having a Trust website if it's not fully utilised? Perhaps have a forum on there for members? That way those who are not into Facebook would feel less out in the cold.

What about those who are members who are not on Facebook? Is it ok to point out that it is a bad idea. Before answering there have been two people who have suggested using the Trust's own website, so you can hardly say they are bitching and moaning, rather suggesting better alternatives. | |

I agree with all the points you seem to be trying to make. Even though it seems one person (2 when Mart6 rocks up  ) is just going to down arrow you.
Seems if you don't use FB, you're getting down arrowed mate!
I don't use any form of 'social meeeja' (apart from whatsapp) although have accounts.
I think I joined the FB closed group- not sure rarely, very rarely use FB/ Tw@tter etc (birthday, Xmas, New Year and a couple/few times in the year)
Surely in this day and age the Trust website should have a forum that could be developed so only members could post, allowing access to view only for non members?
