Something else to Blame the Government for,

Wages finally overtake inflation
Wages have overtaken inflation for the first time in over a year, official statistics just out show.

UK wages excluding bonuses rose 2.9% in the three months to March compared to an inflation rate of 2.7% for the same period.

There were 32.34 million people in work, 197,000 more than for October to December 2017 and 396,000 more than for a year earlier.

The employment rate (the proportion of people aged from 16 to 64 years who were in work) was 75.6%, higher than for a year earlier (74.8%) and the highest since comparable records began in 1971.

There were 1.42 million unemployed people (people not in work but seeking and available to work), 46,000 fewer than for October to December 2017 and 116,000 fewer than for a year earlier.

The unemployment rate (the proportion of people in work plus unemployed people, who were unemployed) was 4.2%, down from 4.6% for a year earlier and the joint lowest since 1975.

The silence is deafening.

The leftie scum on here hate good news like this .

They like to wallow in their miserable little lives and hate to see
the record levels of employment and wage inflation above price inflation.

But hey that's the type of people they are so why should the rest of us pity them?

Wow for one month in christ knows how many it finally gets above inflation and you crow... deluded. In real terms people are still measurably worse off and it will take some time for wages to catch up.

Something else to blame the government for:-

There were 32.39 million people in work, 146,000 more than for November 2017 to January 2018 and 440,000 more than for a year earlier.

The employment rate (the proportion of people aged from 16 to 64 years who were in work) was 75.6%, higher than for a year earlier (74.8%) and the joint highest since comparable records began in 1971.

There were 1.42 million unemployed people (people not in work but seeking and available to work), 38,000 fewer than for November 2017 to January 2018 and 115,000 fewer than for a year earlier.

The unemployment rate (the proportion of people in work plus unemployed people, who were unemployed) was 4.2%, down from 4.6% for a year earlier and the joint lowest since 1975.

There were 8.65 million people aged from 16 to 64 years who were economically inactive (not working and not seeking or available to work), 72,000 fewer than for November 2017 to January 2018 and 200,000 fewer than for a year earlier.

The inactivity rate (the proportion of people aged from 16 to 64 years who were economically inactive) was 21.0%, lower than for a year earlier (21.5%) and the joint lowest since comparable records began in 1971.

Latest estimates show that average weekly earnings for employees in Great Britain in nominal terms (that is, not adjusted for price inflation) increased by 2.8% excluding bonuses, and by 2.5% including bonuses, compared with a year earlier.

Latest estimates show that average weekly earnings for employees in Great Britain in real terms (that is, adjusted for price inflation) increased by 0.4% excluding bonuses, and by 0.1% including bonuses, compared with a year earlier.

There were 818,000 job vacancies for March to May 2018, little changed compared with December 2017 to February 2018 but 33,000 more than for a year earlier.

Successive Tory governments have used austerity as an economic tool.
No other country has taken this length of time to overcome the effects of the world wide crash.
Austerity fuelled much of the disquiet bout the EU as the EU was blamed for anything nasty when in reality much of the really nasty was down to our Tories (then ToryDUPUKIP).
UK growth haas been a fraction of that achieved by any of our international competitors. Instead of doing something about it we blame others an hit the least well off.

Austerity isn't a new phenomenon. They're using this excuse this time to not fund local authorities so that they're forced to sell land and public property into private hands. It's that simple.

The Tories give a f*ck about the debt/deficit? Or ever cared about the British people apart from how much profit they can squeeze from them or how many can be sent to war on lies? Tony Blair got in on that one didn't he? Almost like they only represent the interests of finance and arms dealers, despite what the billionaire owned press spew at you.

The same billionaire owned newspapers that disseminate the horeshite that the billionaire owned politicians tell you.

Still, keep voting people. It'll get better someday.

I blame the Labour blues under Blair for much of it and I blame Osborne and Cameron for the austerity that in reality hit the poorest while giving the richest tax breaks and incentives. May is a terribly weak PM and I don't like Hammond but I don't think they're as bad as previous people, it's just that Parliament is so fractured, the government so weak, it's so hard to get anything done. Not that I think May is going great guns on brexit, there's much to criticse her government for.
AS for town centres, out of town retail parks and online shopping has been a hammer blow. Surely the time has come for town centres to be turned back into people friendly areas. Put the greenery back, have entertainment areas, parks, make town centrrs meeting places. From which you might gather, I support the councils plans!

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Just look at the message in socialist Venezuela. Over two million people have become refugees in Colombia just so they can food and medicine. Venezuela has the world's largest oil reserves and should be the richest country in South America.

Whichever the currency of choice, it's greed that has caused many of our problems. It used to be religion but now even Muslims openly chase wealth......that or the Saudi's are extreme hypocrites....ok so they are! As well as being a human rights nightmare and oppressive to women or people of different religions.....so why do successive UK governments pander to them, again it's money. It's never a bad thing to have rich friends and allies.
Oil, Gold, Diamonds, land.......whatever keeps the profits rolling. Whichever UK government of the last 40 years you talk about, they have all been good at wasting money, giving away assets (or selling cheap to friends) and at the same time guilty of not investing in any wealth making infrastructure for the future. Our roads, our railways, our cities, all are behind the times. There's places in the third world with better internet than Wales, apparently. So who do I blame, is it corporations or the government.......or maybe they're in it together.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

I donate to my local ASDA-foodbank-basket during my local weekly shop and the fact that foodbanks and foodbank donation initiatives are now springing up here....there.....and everywhere sort of says something is seriously wrong.

2018, and people are in desperate need of foodbanks to feed themselves, the decline of a once great nation.

So

People donate to food banks ( which is nice ) and other people go and pick that food up for free.

It's hardly surprising is it?

What do you think is going to happen when free food is on offer?
