The last member of Englands 1950 World Cup squad. Hat trick against Wales

Quite a disciplinarian when he managed us.

He was the manager when I started supporting the Swans.
The club were going through a new launch type period at the time. The Vetch had been spruced up and a spanking new programme was published.
The players use to come on to the pitch to some bloody awful song that I think was called 'you got to have hope' by Peggy Lee. I am open to correction there.
Little did we know of the terrible times waiting just round the corner. That's given my age away :-)
RIP Roy, he had a good innings.

He won promotion in his first season 1969/70, the season we become Swansea City.

He signed Len Allchurch and Tony Millington, and this was the season that Malcolm Struel's consortium took over the club.

RIP Roy Bentley YJB

Everyday above ground ... Is a good day! 😎

Yep he did a great job and the club had a real professional feel about it at the time before the dreaded Gregg days.

He was manager when I saw my first game too,a pre-season friendly against Man City in August 1972. I’ve still got my ticket I thought I was like 10,000 feet up in the air.

Thanks for a lifetime of mainly misery Roy. RIP Dude.

He should always be remembered as the manager who had Alan Curtis put pen to paper when he signed amateur forms in 1971/72 ??

He treated the youngsters at the club well, not like that pig Gregg.

When was you living in Phillip St? My Grand parents lived a few doors from Carolyn Harris and her parents.
