A number of my running club are taking part.
Going to be a warm one and I don't envy them. It was warm when I did it in 2014 and was really tough towards the end.
Great occasion and unrivalled atmosphere but as a 'pure' running event it's horrible, as the field never thins out.

Doing Newport next week and pray to God it's a bit cooler.

"And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts. And I looked, and behold a pale horse, and his name that sat on him was Death, and hell followed with him."

I'll be somewhere on the route, watching it. If anyone wants to choose a place for Swans fans to meet up and watch it I'd be happy to be there, so long as it's near a pub.

Good luck to everyone but it will be very hot, so get rid of the fancy dress.

My fastest time was 1 hour 22 minutes when I was only nine years old. I hadn’t even entered the race but I had to get away from jimmy savile somehow.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

Was that when you wrote to Jimmy Savile asking him to fix it for you to meet Gary Glitter?

Have every intention of running this next year whether it is through ballot or a charity place just for the experience of the whole atmosphere

First marathon for me In October - Snowdon. Thought I would start with a nice flat one

Daughter did it through a charity place, raised over £2,000 for Eikon for long term support of vulnerable young people.

Stirling Marathon the week after for me.

London’s great, ran it twice, cracking atmosphere. Last time was the week after the Boston Bombings, never seen support like it. London did itself proud that day.

Chester and Snowdonia marathons in October

I ran it in 1985, the year Steve Jones won, sadly I peaked in training a month earlier, but was going great until the 18 mile mark, needed water so grabbed 2 cups (cups in those days) stopped to make sure I didnt drop any, then found it was bloody difficult to get going again, but what an experience,
I lost 12lb in 26 miles, lol

The London one is nice and flat Phil. It's an experience to see the elite runners heading to the finish whilst you've still got half the course to complete 😂

Nope. But did Barcelona a few years back. It's a brilliant race and recommend it highly to any runners out there. It's also combines nicely with a long weekend trip with the family/friends.

Never knew getting old would happen so quick!

Well done to all. It's something I couldn't do because I would not want to. So hats off to those who motivate and dedicate themselves and raise money.

My daughter completed the London marathon ...took her well over 4 hrs mind.

She enjoyed the wonderful experience and was completely overwhelmed by the encouragement given by the watching crowds, plus over £2,000 raised for charity, in this event everyone's a winner.
