The Frankie Burrows dead wood thread. 12:48 - Apr 30 with 2436 views | Loyal | The last time we had this amount of trash in the first team squad was around the time 'Frankie says' ... It's time to get rid of the dead wood. My dead wood. Routledge, Dyer, Naughton, Bartley, Leon, Ki, Montero, Carrol.

The Frankie Burrows dead wood thread. on 14:48 - Apr 30 with 2287 views | awayjack | It's pretty depressing looking at the quality of our squad but the sheer numbers about to leave is worrying: Loanees in or out that won't return Tammy, Sanches, Baston, Mesa, Amat, Montero Old Guard / out of contract Rangel, Leon, Dyer, Routs, Ki Consistently Not good enough Carrol, Bartley, Naughton Add real possibly Bony won't really recover fitness - 3 years of various injuries now - so that's 15 to somehow replace. Even if we go for 10, we'll sell Mawson to try to fund rebuild. Considering our transfer record since the greedy one became DOF and it'll be an interesting Summer if we stay up. If we're relegated maybe Carrol, Bartley and Naugton stay but we'd lose Fabs, Fernandes, Fer and Ayew boys.

The Bartley Naughton Carroll lovers wont be happy with you ( I agree with you) As someone said yesterday Bartley will be our captain if we are relegated.... now that’s a depressing thought
The Frankie Burrows dead wood thread. on 15:19 - Apr 30 with 2203 views | magicdaps10 | The "Dead Wood" will depend upon what league we are in next season, if we stay up then we chop the following Gregor Zabarat Angel Rangel Kyle Bartley Roque Mesa Jay Fulton Jefferson Montero Wayne Routledge Wilfried Bony Ki-FREE AGENT Matt Grimes Borja Baston If we can get about 30-35M for this lot(will be hard) then we have something to work off. Players like Naughten Carroll Dyer Fer Clucas become more squad players and spend less time in the starting 11.

The Frankie Burrows dead wood thread. on 15:22 - Apr 30 with 2195 views | Al_Bundy | The irony is the likes of Ki, Mawson, Fernandez and probably the Ayews will all leave if we go down to get back to the prem. Relegation will see our old guard the core of the side - add to the insult the match day prices won't come down much would be a real insult to the fans. Big couple of weeks coming up - do we want to stay up !? certain players need to start showing it.

We don't need to replace most of those leaving. Our first team setup is massively overstocked and there's enough quality in the u23s to fill the gaps as squad/emergency players. Hopefully the budget will stretch far enough to get a decent first 15 together.

We are in the shit imo because fer is missing. Edit - Frank alive and well and living in bromsgrove area I'm reliably informed. Scared the shit out of cancer a few times by staring at it in the mirror. [Post edited 30 Apr 2018 19:01]

The Frankie Burrows dead wood thread. on 19:18 - Apr 30 with 1895 views | Garyjack | It's all well and good saying "get rid of the deadwood", but we haven't got the cash to replace them with. So much money has been totally wasted over the last three years, that even if we stay up, we haven't got the finances to recover from the massive mistakes that have been made.

I would probably agree that we are missing Fer, the role he played in the new system really suited him. Think if we want to get to a better level, Fer shouldn't be a nailed on starter.

The Frankie Burrows dead wood thread. on 20:04 - Apr 30 with 1800 views | icecoldjack | Well both Clement,Monk and now Carlos love a bit of Burrows 5 at the back one up top . I wouldn't put Naughton there myself. Routs,Britton and Rangel are done at this level through age but have been a major factor in the Swans maintaining prem status. I'm not sure i'd refer to them as deadwood as such but it's clear they've been here a touch too long, it always comes back to the same thing though and that's Jenkins and Co. being tight on deals for Joe Allen holding on to the wrong players for too long, buying square pegs that clearly only fit in round holes, the list is an endless one . Unless there is a serious investment and a couple of signings in the mold of Michu,Chico,JDG etc (meaning top quality but cheap) it's looking like we will follow the rest of the identikit prem failiures like Sunderland,Wigan,Fulham,Blackburn and Villa who hover around relegation and then sink without a trace. Half of those clubs mentioned didn't stop falling until they hit L 1 ! Sobering thought.
The Frankie Burrows dead wood thread. on 20:23 - Apr 30 with 1755 views | SgorioFruit | Dead wood or not Dyer is our only player out there showing some fight and spirit and heart. The rest look like a pile of shite. Get dyer and Leon on the pitch for the remaining three games, this will Inject a huge dose of experience leadership and plenty of bottle to get at them. What we have on that pitch now is just pure garbage that can’t be bothered.

Problem with Fer,Ki,Carol,Cluless etc is that it's hard to know which player will turn up from one week to the next. I know if they could perfrom every week they wouldn't be at Swansea but lets be honest here, name 5 MOTM performances from those players this season ? Fer is probably the better of the bunch for at least throwing his weight around, our team must be a nightmare to manage though not knowing what you get from one week to the next .

Deadwood ?? fook me you could build a ship with all that !! The wages of that lot must be crippling the club, throw in compensation payments to our millions of previous managers and staff and we are well and truly fooked !

Also true. It's only the new manager bounce that seems to get a tune out of them, once they get comfy with the new coach they revert to being mediocre again .

it really does look like we will have to have a massive shake up whether we stay up or not. The problem is that we will need about 10 players. This would need massive skills in the transfer market, a worldwide knowledge of suitable players and the humility to work with the manager to get the players he wants in. We have most certainly have not got any of that. Jenkins out or staying up will just be stay of execution.

I was thinking there would be hope with the mendez agent like up and Carlos Portugal connections, like Jose at united, getting rid of these players will be a hard job though. Relegation will truly shaft us .
