Simply not good enough for the Premier League 10:04 - May 9 with 1377 viewsswancity

And last night ladies and gentlemen the evidence was there for all to see clearly

Hardly any goal attempts created in 96 minutes of football against a struggling Saints side who looked a lot better than us all over the pitch.

Bizarrely now some people looking to blame the current manager who arrived after a 5-0 defeat at Liverpool when we were firmly in last place with little hope. He has given us some hope.

We all really know who has fooked this club up. Greedy owners including Jenkins Dineen Morgan. They took the plaudits, now they must face up to the criticism and questions. When they started putting most of their time and energy into selling the Club and then doing it secretly that's when our serious problems started. That was around 3 years ago. Possibly more. In the words of Tommy Docherty they promised to take our club to the next level. They have, they've got it relegated.

So the same squad (more or less) than beat Arsenal, Liverpool and West Ham, with the same manager, are suddenly blameless fr turning in inept performances over the past few weeks.
Carlos was moulding an average bunch of players into a fighting force.
Now he has lost it, they are just an average bunch of players.
Carlos needs to go, and take many of the players out of the door with him

It's both isn't it. Layers of ineptness, stacked on top of each other and winding downwards in a never ending circle into the pit of misery.

Still wouldn't rule out us staying up though, even if it looks like we couldn't score in a brothel.

Agreed they are ' just an average bunch of players '

Fortunate to beat Liverpool with around 25% possession, and played well against West Ham and Arsenal who were both awful on the day

I couldn't fault our players efforts last night, they just don't have enough collective quality. Hardly any goals scored now for 9 or 10 games.

You only need to look at managerial appointments the past few years, where did they come from and where are they now.

Not premier league quality, the same as such of our squad, not their fault you can only play with the quality you have, but managers of a certain level can the get the best out of players as Colin has shown once again in the championship. But it is down to a lack of investment, forward thinking and overall desire to succeed, the club has been ripped apart, 3 seasons we have been in the relegation battle just floating above the drop zone for long periods, Siggy saved us last year and then we go and sell the only hope we have for this year....if you don't score you don't win, simples!

But Sigurdson wanted to go and £40m was an incredible amount for a player who is no more than an average PL player, taking his deal ball delivery out of things.
It's the lack of quality replacements.

Waiting so late to get the deal done was shambolic though. It may have got a couple of extra quid on to the deal but compared to what it’s probably cost us over the season can’t have been worth it.

Three of those managers kept us up, whereas Colin Wunker has never kept a club in the Prem, yet he's a better manager? Fair dos that's a load of old pony.

Its just a ride.

certainly..we could have brought in 3 players with this money..

ffs..Brighton brought Pascal Gross for 3 m..and he's been terrific for them.
Burnley brought in Chris Wood for 15 m..scored 9 goals..
Watford got Richarlison for 11 m..5 goals and 5 assists (not great but much better than our player's return)
last season..Southampton got Redmond for 12 m..he sucked this season but last year he was very good..

point is..selling siggy and ageing Llorente for a combined 53 m was the right call..same with selling Cork.
but replacing this lot with sh!t costs us big..

Nobody disputes siggy and llorente wanted out and we made good money .They and others were never replaced with quality .my grievance is with the recruitment staff this guy Ledbetter or whatever his name is and the board who are culpable to all this .this club is riddled with shit from top too the bottom there are people within stealing a living and making big money it needs an absolute overhaul and ruthless trimming back .
If it means going down and rebuilding so be it Southampton forget they had to go to the 3rd tier and do it

But they have an academy that has consistently turned out some decent products, Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlin, Gareth Bale, Luke Shaw, Lallana and others. Can’t say Swansea’s academy, or many others in Britain turn out that kind of talent. They also had very rich benefactors.

Getting out of the Championship is incredibly difficult. You need to spend money. Dont forget Southampton had an estimated 400 million spent on them by Markus Liebherr after he bought them out of administration. Look at what Wolves have had injected.
With us, I suspect the money will be drained from the club rather than further funds invested.
