Yes Northern Ireland international 2 successive promotions with Brighton and Fulham.
Make a nice change from Fer and Ollsson who specialise in relegations.
The Ayews lack of effort is no surprise with them both wanting away.

Is Oliver Norwood an upgrade over Clucas? Fer? even Carroll? I honestly doubt it.

Surely he could be a good addition and all. But he's probably more of the same.

If my memory serves me correct Norwood can take a mean set piece, is a good passer and has a good engine.
He has held his own in good teams, promotion winning teams, at this level...and scores a few goals from midfield as well.

Whether we want him and he wants to join us or not, he is exactly the type we are crying out for.
We are not in such a great place that we can turn our noses up at Oliver Norwood.

At this stage I am hoping we can secure;

(CB) McKenna,
(CM) Norwood,
(AM) Celina
&
(ST) Ghoddos

A new spine of the team in effect.

We have less than 3 weeks left of the transfer window though, wouldn't be surprised if we don't sign any and try to wing it with some loans to cover those who will leave after August 9th.
If this happens we will be in another relegation battle I reckon.
I don't understand where this confidence in a mid table finish (with what we have) comes from.

The only thing I am feeling positive about is the new youngsters Asoro and Dhanda.

Norwood is a Birmingham target and we've been added to the list of three clubs the papers use to add drama.

A new day a series of new "imminent transfers" (according to internet sites looking for clicks)...take it with a pinch of salt but today's gossip is;

IN

- Sam Gallagher (Southampton - £7m)
- Tom James (Yeovil - £350k)
- Bersant Celina (Man City - £4m)
- Scott McKenna (Aberdeen - £3.5m + add ons)

...and Parsswans reckons we are watching
- Lewis Morgan (Celtic)
- John McGinn (Hibernian)

OUT

- Fede Fernandez (Newcastle - LOAN...f*ck me with a fishfork!)
- Andre Ayew (Fenerbache - LOAN...years wages covered, approx. £4m)

Regrettably I can find no media links for Norwood, so I'm guessing Jasper is right and the original link was bullsh*t.
Also, it has all gone quiet on some potential OUTs;
- Mawson
- Amat
- Clucas
- Narsingh
- Bony
- J. Ayew

We are in limbo land with 2&1/2 weeks to go of the transfer window.

lol what imminent transfers?

-Sam Gallagher? WTF? When were we even linked?

-Tom James:Looking likely

-Bersant Celina:Looking very likely

-Scott McKenna:Far from being imminent. Possible but at this point it's only speculation.

Lewis Morgan..Please don't tell me we're linked.

John McGinn: Will be a Celtic player in a matter of days.

Strikers Strikers Striker!!!

-Saman Ghoddos..We talked more than enough about that guy.

-Thierry Ambrose: Man City starlet..done really well on loan in the Netherlands with Breda. Looks exactly like the kind of signings we're making.

-Dominic Solanke: (loan deal)..I know he's not proven at a Championship level at all but Klopp thought it was a good idea to leave him in the senior squad last season. He flopped but he's still young and maybe he was thrown in action too early. We'd be perfect for him.

-Vincent Janssen: (loan deal)..I know..I know..But he tore the Dutch league apart with Alkmaar. And being Kane's back up already ruined many players..Our friend Llorente is the latest casualty. He was doing ok in Turkey before picking up a 5 months injury..Very..very alarming but I'm just throwing it out there.

-Lazar Markovic..I know he's a winger. But can play false 9 and a CF as well..At one point Brandon Rodgers though he's worth 20 m for some reason..Just like his compatriot Mitrovic..he's failed at a PL level..but he ripped the Championship a new one..what if Lazar can find himself in the 2nd tier?

-Sam Vokes..terrific Championship record..Burnley would probably be willing to let him go..Imo it'd be a good signing.

-Nelson Oliveira..We all know who that is.

-Federico Forestieri..At one point I thought we'd have went for him if Carvalhal stayed as he's currently a Sheffield Wednesday player..He reminds me a lot of Abel Hernandez..a superb Championship striker when fit..when fit..which is about one third of the time..

There are obviously other options..I'm just not assed enough to mention them.

Mentioned in the Tom James thread but I am led to believe by a very good source that we are trying to sign Cameron Carter-Vickers on loan from Spurs which probably signals the departure of at least one of the higher earning CBs at some point.

We already know Mawson, Fernandez will be going..Not to forget Bartley already gone of course so signing a new back up CB is obviously a must do. Although I thought we were chasing McKenna? Or could this mean Amat is also leaving? Well that sucks.

How good is Cameron Carter-Vickers? I literally have no clue.

And what's with us chasing players who were at Ipswich last season? Celina..now this guy..

My source rates him highly - obviously struggling to break into Spurs first team but has been in around the squad.

Message boards suggest he is strong, athletic and good on the ball. The word 'brute' was used several times!

Highly rated at Ipswich last year, did well at Sheffield Utd before that and got a full cap for USA in April.

Be pretty pleased if we pull this one off.

Getting linked with Sheff Weds striker Forestieri now.
Being reported by HTC which is not the most reliable of sources.

He scored 52 goals and created 36 assists in 162 matches during 6 seasons in the Championship with Watford and Sheffield Wednesday.

The problem is he's managed to appear in only 58% of fixtures. Last season he's made only 10 appearances (although he scored 5 goals in that very short time)

Way too injury prone. Which is unfortunate because I actually like him and I think he could be really good if fit. But will he be? Not likely so we should avoid imo.

McKenna..Don't know anything about him so it's hard to tell how good of a signing it'd be

Besic..Would love him to come here but his injury record is terrible. Avoid.

Celina..Exciting prospect imo..From what we've heard it's practically done.

Forestieri..As I mentioned..a great signing but also very injury prone..To avoid.

Now HITC claim that we're eyeing Perdo Chirivella from Liverpool's academy along with Nottingham Forest. Liverpool are willing to do business with a 5 m.

Never heard of him. Went into 2 loans to the Eredivisie. Not sure how he's done. He plays as CMF/DMF.

Not that there is a point in repeating what HITC claims. Probably they did the math "Swansea are in it for academy players from the top 6 clubs..They like Spaniards..woah! Pedro Chirivella fits the bill! Let's just write another useless article again and claim Nottingham are also in it to create drama!"

I'm sorry HITC..Chirivella is not Portuguese enough for Nottingham Forest's taste.
