I think he would consider a move to the Championship though if the allure of consistent playing time and a chance for PL Promotion is out there. Question is, what does Chelsea see in him? | | | |

-Benalouane (another Leicester ageing CB who isn't getting playing time)
-Ragnar Klavan (probably not needed anymore now that Van Dijk signed for Liverpool,despite his age,I think a loan deal would be great for us)

How about some players that came through elite clubs but have never quite "done it" yet? Might have the technical ability we supposedly want to bring back.
Thinking of players like Alvaro Medran (who I think is out of contract this summer?). Real Madrid, Spain youth, hitting his mid-twenties without having pulled up any trees...

Danny Ward, already mentioned by Chief. We should definitely be looking at him. He's 24, needs to be playing and is 3rd choice at Liverpool who arguable need a new keeper anyway.
He's already won promotion with Huddersfield, saving a pen in the play off final on the way.

Some that are mentioned are not proper technical incisive players..
If we're going back to tiki tiki.. we need to look at the technical incisiveness..
Not the most 'robust'.. but quick and incisive..
De Vries - superb feet, up and down OK.. superb finger tips save in him.. rubbish on crosses.
Chico - if we're looking for a CB.. it has to be in the mould of Chico.. not the most robust but incisive, quick witted.
Davies - not the most robust.. not the quickest.. but incisive and determined when on the field.
Rangel - not the most robust.. but incisive and aggressive.
Britton - not the most robust.. but tenacious and incisive in possession.
De Guzman - not the most robust.. but quick and incisive in possession.
Shelvey - an enigma, but he can win you a game
Hernandez - not the most robust, but incisive and could pick out needle pass, not bad on freekicks either
Montero - not the most robust, but when he was on his game, he could give the best a run for his money

Dropping into the Championship means money drops across the board and we don't know the contracts players have.
I'd like the club to consider keeping as many as possible as almost all would be prepared for or better than the Championship has offer.
I think transfer fee will be a lot lower in the Summer and keeping players should be a priority. But I don't think we have enough players with an interest in Swansea City so they will try to move. Trying to keep players until January might be possible - then, If we are challenging at the top of the table they might stay on. If we are not looking like promotion candidates desperate lower placed clubs in the Premier league will pay more. As we did.
Mawson £15 - 18 million (having an op so I assume he's have to recover as it seems only the Swans buy unfit players)
Ayew A - £18 million
Ayew J - £10 million
Amat - £4 million
Fernandez £4 million
Van der Hoorn - £6million (but should be no less than Mawson)

van der horn and Roberts also although vdh did say he thought he could play for top 6 I seem to remember
