Poor recruitment.
Negative football from Clement and Carlos.
28 goals.
Under performing players.
Lack of application from players who don't give a toss about the club not all.
Finally disunity in the stands caused by a devious greedy selling board and poor performances on the pitch. | |

You right in the main about playing to orders I agree...but initially none played that negatively from the start suggesting the players abilitys came out in the wash after so many games.
I think PC will do ok at Reading as there is room in the championship to develop a style and build teams..the PL you cant outside the top 7. | | | |

If the fans won't let the Jenkins thing go they'll have to sack him as without total unity we can forget next season.
We've got a major, major chance next season and we're the bookies favourites, but with the toxic atmosphere of last season continuing then forget it.
My fear is Jenkins does go and the so called fans find something else to bring the club down. |

Most of last summer on here was spent discussing what was happening with Gylfi and Llorente.
Many on here including myself were disappointed not only to see them go, but the lack of suitable replacements.
It seemed both were going as soon as the 2016 / 17 season finished, so we should have sold both ASAP and got in adequate replacements.
I was more optimistic for the new season, but like many, felt yhat the goals those two had provided would be hard to replace. |  |

I feel true this backs up what I am thinking.
It is not just wages and lower levels of football. Players can see what a toxic incompetent mess the club is in and can only see our decline continuing.

Or to put it slightly differently, it was Swansea's explicit strategy to buy underachieving players.
Jenkins touted himself as the ultimate footballing alchemist who could identify failures that would then be turned to gold in his expert hands. No doubt sold himself to Kaplan & Co on that basis too.
Then, after 3 years persistently flirting with relegation, the sad truth was eventually revealed; Jenkins' alchemical skillz turned out to be nothing but hot air.
Or his lucky streak had run out.
Whichever, the time is way overdue for a fundamental rethink of strategy and ethos. |  |
