Obviously the greatest and best way to deal with this sort of situation is to tool absolutely everybody, including the kindergarten kiddies, and the school rabbit, with AR15s so they can prevent the absolute shit out of anything like this horrendous episode happening again. Did you know 60% of gun deaths in America are the results of suicide. Facter in the deaths from the gang culture across the country and these figures aren’t so high. That’s not me trivialising these shootings especially at schools as they are very disturbing to me.

The depressing thing is that there are so many scenarios that no single solution is going to work. This time it was a shotgun and a revolver legally owned by the father rather than an AR15 bought by a disturbed young man. There is no way that there will ever be a ban on shotgun ownership in the USA, and so better mental health checks, tighter licensing requirements, no larger calibre semi-automatics, no large capacity magazines and so on probably wouldn't have made a difference in this case. One aspect of the problem is a emergence of a culture where disaffected young people believe mass shootings are a way of showing their disaffection.

One way to increase the gun deaths in the USA is to try and take guns away from the population. It ain’t going to happen. Something like 350 million guns owned by Americans. These shootings are extremely sad, but people who think the answer is getting rid of guns are living on fantasy island.
