I agree. It was not Tom's fault he was part of a poor and imbalanced squad. I bet he would have had a much better season in a balanced team with competition for each place.
Our bench was so weak the team almost picked itself.
Not sure his decision was based entirely on loyalty though. I think he knows he has to knuckle down and try and rebuild his reputation. He is young enough to progress. |  |

He's not lacking in ability. The first season he was here he did reasonably well. For whatever reason last time around he had an absolute stinker from start to finish. Don't think us setting up so negatively in most games helped, but he has to take some responsibility too.
Seems like the kind of player who needs a manager who will put an arm round him if needs be.

Didn't make it with better players around him at Spurs can't see him doing any better next season in a lower league, too slight , passing not brilliant and tackling on a par with KI. I hope he does well can't see it myself. |  |

He'll be absolutely fine in the Championship. I just hope we are paying him Championship wages. Laugh all you want, but I'd put half a crown on him being our player of the season next year. A season or two in the Championship is probably exactly what he personally needed.
Unless Routs gets it, obviously.

Clement destroyed him with his negative instructions, never recovered, but he's not that good at the heavy lifting anyway. Suffered the most from losing Fer. Very much like Ki but without the misplaced affection from 'fans'. [Post edited 20 May 2018 21:17]

Just watched Iniesta's final game for Barca, what a player never overly physical but had everything else, young Tom should watch video's of him, won't ever reach Iniesta's quality but could surely pick snit bits up to help his game.
