Alot of people will say Monk was not a disaster because of the success in the first season. I don't agree though, the warning signs were there. He was the start of the decline.

What about Laudrup's second season?

In Laudrup's second season despite coping with the Europa League we were comfortably in mid-table before hitting a run of tough fixtures at the same time as a lengthy injury list. We were also still in both the Europa League and the FA Cup.

The only time we underperformed during Laudrup's tenure was in his first season after the cup final.

Monk's full season was a shocker in terms of football - grinding out draws and 1 -0 wins by bus parking.

Poll: Should the summer transfer window close before the season starts?

I'll remember that match at Old Trafford for a long time. Waving bye-bye to the Utd fans as they departed just in front of me, and have them wave back with two fingers and a miserable look on their faces was a top Premier League memory for me.
(Mind you , I wont miss getting up at 5 oclock in the morning for a 12:30 kick-off, as it was, to suit TV).

Question: at the start of the season when Monk left, we took 8 from 4, having taken 55 points the previous season.
We then went into the international break and couldnt buy a win afterwards.
So what happened during that break to tear everything apart so badly ?

I stand in the North Stand

The West Ham away game was a low of Laudrup era. Despite huge injuries and Europe, it was a key game to let our 'players' stab him in the back. That WH game would be a normal away performance now the rot is so deep.

Made much much worse by that clueless big conked wànker believing he was some sort of low budget football genius

We've been on the slide ever since.

And he's still here like a fûcking smelly dog turd stuck on your shoe..

Some highlights but as a season I felt I was enduring games.
But Imo the football was awful.

Will we be signing a keeper to replace Fabianski or a backup I wonder.

So the latest is he's apparently telling the clubs major sponsors that he's leaving after their game on Saturday.

Apparently wants to bring two players with him, I've never heard of either of them, but I don't confess to following the Swedish league that closely!!

Stuart James in the Guardian has been pretty good for this story so far.

From a Swedish journo on Twitter, the two are:

Ken Sema, MF - SWEDEN (5 Caps) 42 games, 5 goals last season
and
Saman Ghoddos - FW - IRAN (6 caps, 1 goal) 16 games, 6 goals last season

Players that score goals! That's a novel idea.

Ghoddos scored 8 goals and created 7 assists in 23 matches last season.

This season so far..he's scored 4 goals in 9 matches.

Good McBurnie back up? maybe.

He’s a left winger mainly.

It looks like Sema has been playing left wingback for them. Anything that gives Olsson competition is good.

I thought Clucas is our to go player to give competition in various positions,Especially at left wingback position.

How dare you insinuate that Clucas is not good enough!
