Huge Bee Swarm!! 17:30 - May 23 with 2048 viewswestwalesed

Just seen the most amazing sight, a huge swarm of bees in my back garden. Was a bit scary but an amazing sight! Dragged the cats in and shut all the doors and windows!

Now they are collecting into a hive on a tree, will be getting the local beekeepers to collect soon!

First week off work too!

Anyone else seen this amazing natural phenomenon?

Not bees but...ladybirds 😳
We were in Cleethorpes in 2009 visiting relatives when suddenly millions of ladybirds swarmed in and covered everything and everyone. It was like red and black hail. It just went on for ages. Sounds ridiculous, but I witnessed it first hand.

Just some of the aftermath. 😳

I saw a badger once

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

It was eating mashed potato with a weird looking blokes hand up it’s arse.

Was on a campsite in Cornwall, and a group of kids ran through the gate from one field into another screaming, followed by a huge swarm of Bees , fair doos they flew through the gate entrance and not over the fence, lol

Seen it before?.... Yes, I have once many years back in a back gardens grass. The bees all huddled together to create what looked from a distance to be a solid object approx the size of a rugby ball. I assumed buried and hidden beneath the writhing shape was the queen? It was not a fallen hive, just bees!

What I found rather surprising was the lack of aggression, I walked back and fore and passed them on numerous occasions and was not stung once. Why I wasn't stung? I do not know, maybe no hive to protect thus no territorial behaviour, no eggs, grubs or honey to protect?

Argus!

Last summer the same thing happened to the side of my house. Except they decided to nest in my soffet. They were also coming in the house via the floorboards and light pendants. The nest was right above the front door as well right above head height.
It made wales online actually, where they completely changed everything we told them and wrote a load of bollocks instead.

When they fly nest and look for a new one the queen gets tired and rests and then the swarm surround her for warmth and protection its called a beard i think.

They wound up my next door neighbour more than me. He's dead now and no wasps have returned.
