Interesting to read that Villa chairman is informing fans that cuts are needed after their final parachute payment was made.

Hopefully the cuts will work against them as they could easily be a force this coming season.

Poll: Are the owners doing enough for Swansea City

Our parachute payments haven’t started & we will probably make bigger cuts than Villa

You know football has gone upside down and is completely ruined when proper big football clubs like Villa and Sunderland can't cope financially .

That tells you of the sheer financial hardship that lies ahead for the swans, all those awful signings for multi millions really is going to hurt us in the coming years .

The best bit about it all was that it was harder to fook it up than get it right ! The next couple of football decisions made at our club will be the biggest in our history,if we get those wrong then I really fear for us, if Aston villa and Sunderland can't cope then I wonder how huw and the yanks will .

Aye, only on the playing side though, the very thing you need to get you back up into the money Tree, out with the dead wood and in with a smaller compact squad with lots of quality, that'll cost so don't expect it to happen.

Nothing wrong with being positive but the reality of our situation is more alarming than many suspect, if clubs like Villa and Sunderland struggle with relegation then it's obviously going to be difficult for us too, IMO we won't be spending much money and we will be trying to offload as many high earning players as possible, selling at cut price.

There are some really tough decisions to be made and if we get those wrong then it will be another tough season ahead, throw in a few sulking players who couldn't get a move away because they arn't as good as they thought they were, coupled with some youngsters and who knows what will happen !

Lets go no further than asking why the fook haven't we secured a manager yet ? many other teams are already planning while we don't even have somebody putting in place plannign for this season, already we are on the back foot !

How do you know that then the window only opened May 17th.
Nobody has done anything yet.

It's not about how much we spend.
We need to try and be clever.
We have parachute money plus money from sales.

I genuinely think we will have a go at coming back up.
We spent plenty last season

Clucas 16m
Bony. 13
Messa 11
Abraham and Sanches loans.
Ayew 20
King loan.

That's 60 million out plus a hefty wage bill.
The owners will want promotion to protect there investment.

To be honest, I don’t want another season relying on the potential weaknesses of other teams. It’s about time we sorted ourselves out.

The only way they will get there cash back and more is the PL.

I personally can't wait for next season, a new manager, a new league, new hope of playing football and winning regularly again.

Surely that's why we watch football?

I can't believe that some of you can be so f*cking down all the time, repeating the same miserable things, day after day, thread after thread. Some of you absolutely specialise in those types of threads as well, writing paragraph after paragraph of misery.

Be happy ffs, look forwards.

A World Cup summer first as well.

I'd hate to be as burdened as some of you come across on here.

Add another £10 million + wages for Abraham and Sanches.
I really think our problem wasn't spending but how it was spent.
Sanches had already gone which is why Bayern were so eager to off load him for the season
Clucas and Ayew was silly money
Bony's injuries might have been expected but there again he could have worked.
Mesa - I would have expected to work.
In all honesty many expected too much from Abraham who IMO was never going to step up to the responsibility thrust on him.
King? I'm not sure he contributed anything other than being another body on the pitch.

Hopefully he new manager will dictate the type of players he needs.
If it is Potter & Reid would we see a few Swedish based players coming our way?

In the Championship some could do well, they are inexpensive & keen to get into a more lucrative league.

As an example - Barrow played 41 one games for Reading (and the full game in most) scoring 10 & assisting 5 which is pretty good for a winger who was never quite up yo Premier League standard.

I was gutted after the Southampton game and the following night when Huddersfield got there point at Chelsea.
But now I am really looking forward to it.
Just about every thread is doom and gloom.
Even posters who were about in league 2 are joining in
A bit surprised if I am honest.

We didn't end up with a shite team because the hedge fund wanted to make money. If their aim was to asset strip and draft in low cost replacements they did a spectacularly poor job. This shite team cost them an absolute mint.

I doubt it cost them anything personally when the sums incoming and outgoing are known.

The sentiments are right but the shite team cost the club a lot of money.

It was inevitable that Sigurdsson and Llorente would have been off before the start of last season whether we wanted it or not. Some wanted it more than others.

The concern for many was that our recruitment arm would not be up to the job of using the money from their sales to rebuild the side. And so it came to pass.

They could have paid themselves some nice dividends if they hadn't spent £50m on bad players.

They had to spend a fair chunk of change to buy the shares, and apart from the head honchos drawing a salary they're not seeing any return so far.

honestly i can't help but think we need a bit of a rebuild, spend a season redeveloping ourselves. The last few panic seasons have just quickened our erosion. and if we just throw things at the wall hoping for quick promotion, won't we continue to roll in the same mire we've been sleeping in?
