Presumably he wouldn't agree to a shorter one. It's a very good incentive not to sack him by Christmas so maybe it's a statement by the owners.
If he's a success he'll move to a bigger club and we'll get our own compensation. |  |

4.7 m total package over 4 years is not too much because I believe it'll pay off if Potter gets supported in the transfer market as well.
The club spent about 9 m on Guidolin/Bradley/Clement/Carvalhal in wages and compensations because of sackings over 2 years and all of this landed us in the Championship anyway. |  |
