Which part of Gower do you want to be in?

What is important to you? Beaches, pubs, walks, facilities for kids, dog friendly etc

Going with the Mrs daughter and grandson.
So a nice beech facilities for kids a club or pub near by would be nice but not essential and a shop that sells beer and bbq food would be spot on.
Was thinking Port Eynon or Oxwich but not done it before so I don't really have much of a clue.

There are a few sites in Port Eynon/Horton, a stones throw from the beach, a pub, fish and chip shop and small general store nearby. Unable to tell you what they charge for a week, expensive in August in the region of a grand probably.

Both of those are nice enough beaches, but get very crowded in the school holidays. They are popular because you can drive near enough right up to the beach. Neither would be my choice, but both tick your boxes.

The ship is nice in port eynon, there is a restaurant there called smugglers I think. There’s a chip shop and a beach shop. Not sure about alcohol or bbq food. There is a caravan site right by the beach, not sure if they are owned, rented or both though.

South Gower ie Oxwich and Port Eynon is a bit more commercialised. North Gower ie Llangennith and Llanmadoc are stunning but not a great deal there in the way of ammenities.
Llangennith has the very popular Kings Head Pub but not even a village shop these days. However the nearby caravan site at Broughton has a good well stocked shop and sells good quality fresh meat which is reasonably priced.
I am fortunate to own a static in Whiteford Bay Llanmadoc which we don't rent out unfortunately. The beach here is beautiful and very quiet because it is difficult to access unless you are on the caravan site.
There is a community village shop and lovely village pub (the Brittania Inn) which is about a 20 minute walk from the campsite.
PM me if you want any further information or if I can do anything to help in any way. I don't know anyone who rents out their caravans on our site but could make enquiries on your behalf..
As stated though, unfortunately caravans are notoriously expensive to rent during school summer holidays.

Bank Farm overlooking Horton has a club, shop, swimming pool and children's play area. It's a good walk down to the beach but is quieter than the Port Eynon side. There's also a park down the bottom between Horton and Port Eynon that has a shop and is closer to the beach. Not sure if you'd get in now as they may all be booked. Most of the caravans are privately owned.

Thanks that's really helpful yes I had a feeling it would be expensive always fancied a caravan holiday down the Gower.
They were best holidays I can remember as a kid not been down the Gower though.
Apart from a tent down Rhossili once.
Yes if you do hear aboit anything that would be helpful but I think we may end up doing something else due to the price.
Booked August off so I could watch the Swans as well but in hindsight may have not been my best idea.

If you want me to check out caravans in North Gower just let me know and I will try my best to get you something reasonable. I could even arrange a lift to the Liberty!

Does anyone know of campsites that you can pitch up a tourer caravan, say a 4 birth, yearly and what sort of price?

Due to early retirement I can get use out of it, site doesnt need to be fancy with a pub ect, and I dont want to be paying Static fees down there.

Cheers
