Warra pelava.

I only wanted to buy a shrimp for the bottom of my fish tank to help keep it clean. I was in a rush with people waiting in the car outside. It took 20 minutes for them to get the shrimp and I had to wait for someone to come with a questionnaire.it cost £3.

I was then grilled for several minutes with questions such as...

How many fish are in the tank? What fish are they? How long have you had them? What is the water capacity of the tank? Will you be taking the shrimp home immediateley?Etc. Name, address, phone number, email feck me it went on and on...

I told the assistant I'm buying a shrimp not adopting a dog for life ffs.

After all that the shrimp seems to have disappeared in the tank.

Is all this political correctness really necessary? I mean we eat shrimps by the bucket load.

I've a good mind to write to my M.P.

I don’t need to provide evidence that gravity exists. Yet am happy to continue to state that fact. I am vegan, I spent many months studying these things in order to come to the conclusions I did. I had no position of bias, if anything I would have liked to continue my habit as it is far easier than realising you are wrong and changing.

So, I know these are facts as do many others who have read such papers and done such research. But I’m not trawling the internet for sources you deem acceptable, look for yourself there are plenty there. I don’t think anyone says otherwise in fact, their superb cognitive ability is not a disputed fact.

One such paper is in the International Journal of Comparative Psychology. I have sparked your interest, go forth and find.

I'm not sure why you're not happy to provide the evidence to your statement of fact. Your witterings would suggest you're unable to do so.

Witterings, of course being factual statements on the subject you seem to be claiming to be interested in.

You said you were a teacher on here before, can you provide me proof of your qualifications?

You have been told, there is an abundance of proof out there, I already have you 3 links, one citing findings from a journal based on one such paper. I’m not doing your donkey work until you find something you are happy with.

You are the one that claims to not know these facts, I’m perfectly happy in the knowledge. I have given you the information, what is stopping you going to find it?

I am afraid your reputation goes before you on here and doubt many would spend their time looking for research papers on a subject you almost certainly are not interested in and are more than capable of finding yourself.

Let me know when that teaching proof is available and I will then help you find these papers that are referenced everywhere you wish to look.

You're now trying to move the goalposts old son.

Show me some evidence that a pig has greater cognitive ability than a 3 year old. It would have been easier for you do to that then to try to bamboozle me and the readers with your ramblings.

Which goalposts am I moving?

I stated pigs perform better in cognitive tests than 3 year old children. I still say that. You are suggesting unless I do your donkey work and prove it to you then it is not true (even though it is a well known concept). I put that back on you with regards to one of your claims that you were a teacher (you seem unable to prove it), which is scary consider you claim that has bamboozled you.

Anyway that quote came from Professor Donald Broom. He is a professor in Cambridge University who has done a series of papers on cognitive ability of animals and humans. His papers are extensive, you are going to have to look them up to find which ones you like.

He specialises in cognitive and behavioural neuroscience.

Off you go.

I did, but as you were the one who mentioned the pigs being cognitively brighter than 3 year old children. I thought you may have had some cool/interesting further reading etc. You've turned it into a bit of an issue though. Thanks anyway. Interesting stuff.

You did? Yet still wanted proof?

So you either didn’t look or couldn’t read. I told you to google it in reply 1, you didn’t need to look past page 1 of google. Learning is not about being handed everything on a plate, it’s about researching and learning. Something I was encouraging you to do, yet you seemed unable to.

Either way, I’m glad you are now enlightened to your interest. Although a point of order, you cannot be more “congnitively bright”. It doesn’t make sense, but yes can see what you are trying to say.

This thread started off as a guy ranting about being given a lecture about fish in pets at home, and now it's an argument about pigs vs 3 year olds

Next time I ll just eat the bastad thing in front of the manager, just to see the look of horror on their faces.

I do like a nice bit of shrimp.

Btw ive copied and pasted my OP and emailed it to head office...I expect the standard, template response.

If I worked there I’d chuck it in the bin. It doesn’t warrant a sensible response.

I could read and write to a decent level when I was 3. Never met a pig who could do that. 🐷

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

I am amazed you don’t know. They are ranked as the 4th most intelligent creatures on the planet.

As I said, if you are interested as you claim then no doubt you could get to the bottom of the origins on this well known fact.

The daily mail also say that Donald Trump is the President of the United States.

Thanks for your inquiry.

Pigs are probably a lot sharper than the current generation of 18 years olds, they taste better in sandwiches though.

It depends which study you read really Hump. But the general consensus seems to be Chimps, dolphins, elephants, pigs and humans are the top echelon, it also depends on what the study is determining as intellect.

This is very rarely promoted however due to the likely impact it would have on a large section of the industry that profits from killing them and selling their corpses for food. The meat industry is incredibly powerful and protected by their respective governments extremely thoroughly.

I won’t post a video but anyone who wishes to see how these incredibly intelligent animals are treated then YouTube pig slaughterhouse. Then imagine the same process happening to dolphins, elephants or chimps and there would be world wide outcry. It’s genuinely tragic.
